bent over rows vs pendlay rows

i know that pendlay rows (from the floor) are better for building strength, but will they build mass as well as bent over rows?

can someone discuss the main differences in the results each are associated with?

which is better for building mass?

and is it strange that i can pendlay row more than i can bent row?
 
with the pendlay you use your back extensors in a concentric fashion to help move the weight, while in a bent over row you use them isometrically to keep the spine arched. That's the main difference. I always been able to do more with bent over, which is weird since with pendlays you can use the back extensors to actually create movement on the bar, instead of just your lats, etc.
