benching excersizes

Hi, I've had a membership to a gym for a couple years, but eventually stopped going and cancelled my membership. I now work out at home, but only have a flat bench and one dumbell. I was wondering if anyone knows about any exercies you may be able to do with a barbell to work other parts of the body. Its no fun being so limited. Thanks

You're kidding, right?

I asked a simple question. Don't try and make me feel like an idiot. It's your job to help isn't it? If there are millions of sites on the web about them, please tell me. If there are absolutely no other lifts I can do, tell me. Don't insult me

I would say your best bet is to get another dumbell. Personally I like the powerblocks system. You can set it from 5 to up to 90 pounds. A barbell would also be helpful. You can now modify powerblocks to do barbell exercises, which is pretty cool.

One dumbbell is not going to do you much good. There are a few exercises that you can do, but for the most part you will need 2 with varying weights.

He might have meant one barbell. No offense intended Grick but one dumbbell is kind of funny. Barbells are bars...usually a yard or two in length. Dumbbells are the weights you hold seperatly in each hand.
That said, yeah there's a lot you can do with just a barbell...bench press, bent over rows, curls, french press, shoulder press, deadlift, roman deadlift, squat, traveling lunge...
Plus things like incline or decline push ups (feet or hands on the bench) and bench dips are doable with out any weights at all.
