Bellydancing???

I bought a Bellydancing fitness DVD on a whim. I was just wondering if anyone has tried bellydancing as a way to lose weight? Were you successful?
 
i didn't do it as an exercise, but i was in Turkey some time ago and met some girls who showed me a bit of bellydancing and this is how they keep in shape. and i would recommend it to everyone because it uses all muscels in your body and its fun. especially if you have the outfit :)
 
i've had the kathy smith belly dance workout for a while and used it a bit in the beginning -- but i've moved since and dont have much room in my bedroom- i need to dust if off again and use it.

I actually liked it because it gave a good abs workout - I was very athletic in high school and college - and even then i couldn't do a crunch - -i still can't -- so this gives me a standing ab workout.. and it's cool because shoes are optional

I like the DVD, and it's great for the core muscles... plus I really don't like doing crunches on the floor either...so it's a win-win for me. :D
