hehe, glad you asked before I did.

well i hear its meant be good for you, theres a class on at my local leisure centre and i dnt know whether to give it a go,i just was wondering what to expect lol

I have a Denise Austin DVD.. i think it's called Pilates for Every Body... but she is so freakin' annoying that as soon as I had the routine down I put her on mute. LOL My point is that DVDs/tapes are a personal preference for the most part.

I used to attend Pilates classes at my gym, it's really easy and good for you too. You should all at least give it a try.

thanks for the recommendations. It's always hard for me to pick out a good exercise DVD so I'm glad to hear some good feedback about these!

Pilates is designed to focus on core strengthening mostly. Slow movements I think, using a stability ball and resistance bands.

I have the windsor pilates DVD but have to admit that I don't use it much. What do you guys think of all the Crunch DVDs? I have the pilates one that I like but was thinking of trying the bootcamp or salsa dancing one. Do you know if they're any good?

If you're planning to seek certification as a pilates instructor, it might help to build a rapport with current instructors, and attend their classes if possible/feasible (even if it means travel time).

I really like Billy Blanks Ab Bootcamp. A lot of it is standing ab work, which I like. Good luck.

Pilates on wikipedia.
