Been gone for a while

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to say sorry for not being around that much in the last few months. I had tons of stuff going on. I moved, took on a new role at my job, and had reconstructive nerve surgery on my hand due to an injury that occured during my move which landed me in a cast for a month and a numb middle finger.

Anyway it looks like there are TONS of new faces and I look forward to chatting with all the people who don't know who I am.

Cool. Hope your finger is okay now.

Welcome back to the forum. I remember you from a while back.

Thanks man.

It's still numb and I can't lift with my usual weight for some movements however the doc said it takes about 4 months to regain the feeling so I'm hoping for the best. I was throwing a bunch of old crap out and there was a butter knife like piece of broken glass in one of the boxes I was throwing out. I didn't notice it and when I reached down to grab the box it stabbed me in the web part of my hand between my middle finger and ring finger. It went about 3 inches down into the palm of my hand which severd the nerve.

Sucked bigtime.

Welcome back, LV.

I hope you heal fast and get back on track.

Its good to hear you are doing okay despite your injury.

Look forward to reading your posts in the future.

Best wishes to you as always,

Chillen

Welcome back LV, even though I never knew you were gone LOL

I severed the nerve in my thumb with a fish hook :). It actually popped when I yanked on it with pliers to get it out. I ended up driving home with it and cutting it out. Since I didn't have anything to cut a hook nor did I have a good clean sharp knife on the boat to cut my skin around it.

It took about 4 months for feeling to come back. :yelrotflmao:

I hooked my own child in the cheek with a jig hook once fishing off my boat.

Poor kid had to wait until I drove clear across the lake to get a wire cutter to unhook his face. I felt terrible, and all the while, he was telling me: "Its okay, Daddy, at least you caught something"

It was a big muskie crankbait too. LOL I caught a smaller pike on it and when it was flipping around it buried the hook into the base of my thumb. So imagine this fish flopping around still hooked on the lure with the lure also hooked on your hand. LOL

It was a true debacle. I normally don't keep pike but I kept that one as punishment for doing that to me.:yelrotflmao:

Show your boo boo, LV! :)

I have seen body parts during accidents when a police officer, so a little cut wouldn't bother me.

We want to see it!

Haha ok......

It's not that bad but the damage came from it going 2.5 inches down into my hand. This is right after it happened. 2 weeks after this pic was taken I had the surgery on it because none of the feeling in my finger came back. Took about 4 stiches to close this then 10 after surgery.

yeah that looks like it hurt. The spot its in is the worst too.

I was actually in shock for the 1st 10 seconds or so because there was so much blood that I thought I cut a finger off. I filled up an entire dish towel with blood and you could literally ring it out. LOL..my mom was there when it happend and she freaked out and called 911 because of all the blood.

My great grandfather worked in a Pepsi bottling plant and permanently lost movement in his middle finger from cutting it badly on a broken bottle. He was always happy to show people the offending appendage LOL

LMAO 911? Thats a mom I suppose.

I bet you didn't even feel the cut at first. Looks like one of those ones you look at and say "how the hell did that happen?"

LOL yea man....she was hysterical over all the blood that was on the kitchen floor....hahaha.

Welcome back, LV. That sucks, your hand. Hope you have a speedy and full recovery.

Mothers. Haha. Mine once called an ambulance for a stubbed toe, I **** you not, because I wouldn't let her drag me to the hospital. A stubbed toe! She claimed it was broken, despite my assurances that I most certainly am not that tough.

So no bird giving lately huh?

Welcome back man.
