Hello peps!

Wow.. I can't BELIEVE I'm on my 12th day today on Cohen and I only managed to stumble upon this forum.. I guess I've been searching at the wrong phrases online.. huh?! I'm pretty sure lots of us have been asking the same questions over and over again.. and I applaud the people who patiently reply back to the threads.. there are thousands of em!! I have been stuck in front of the laptop since I found this page this morning.. lots of interesting things to read..

Anyhow, I didn't realise there were so many people who are on Cohen's Lifestyle Programme. That's fascinating! I guess the marketing wasn't done that extensively compared to other weight lost programme aye? How can I not realise that it has been going on for years?

Well, it coming to Malaysia only just recently makes the difference I suppose! Ironically, their office is located where the expats are.. for the price I paid for the programme, I'm sure different walks of women and men wouldn't mind paying for it! Trust me, I've paid for more and NOTHING. .. Absolutely NOTHING showed!

Surprisingly, I was reading some of the threads earlier (can't remember who wrote it) and was thinking of my portion of food. Yikes, seems like mine is not so far different from the guys.. The amount of protein I'm taking seems heaps.. anyways, won't worry myself over it..

All I'm worried about is the trip I'll be making with the family come 12-17th February.. honestly, I'm planning to take my yellow digital scale ..hee hee
(used to be pink, swapped it as it came up with different weight all the time) and weigh up my food! I know it's going to be RIDICULOUS but I don't really care! There are people who didnt care for my feelings and all they tell me is I've gone sooooo fat ..so now that I'm doing something about it, people also have something to say.. don't they? :)

Will see what happens.. but I really don't want to deviate from the food weight.. it takes soooo much courage to pursue the plan and I'm fighting temptation ALL THE TIME! I know my consultant mentioned about eating protein only as big as your palm and veges both your fist combined but I tried and the weight differs..

Right, I think I'm rambling.. so just to tell you know.. on the first week on the programme, I lost 2kg!! To all of you who are still new.. stay focused okay! DO NOT LET ANYTHING GET IN YOUR WAY especially *gulps* KFC and BURGER KING.. ;p

ehrose,

Welcome to the Cohen boards! I am happy to find a fellow Malaysian (right?) on Cohen's around the same time as me. I didn't know that they opened a clinic in KL. Is it in Bangsar? I joined the Singapore clinic months ago but only could start officially this month.

Do continue to update your diary. You're going away for CNY right? :) I'm actually heading home around CNY weekend for visa run (based in Indonesia) and I'm so excited to finally try yoghurts and cheese on my diet! (I can't get them here). What yoghurt brand are you currently using?

Take care, and continue to enjoy your Cohen journey!

Welcome to the forum Ehrose. It is great to feel that there are so many people out there sharing your journey. It would be nice to hear a little more about your life & what it's like living in Malaysia. Do this for yourself ehrose as you are the one who really counts. Cheers, Cate

Hi Ehrose,

Welcome to the forum, promise you, you will be glad you fell upon it :)

Good luck with your journey ahead and I look forward to reading your diary!

Welcome to the forum from me too Ehrose!!!

Yes, there are a huge amount of people on the cohens lifestyle program or who have completed it - I'm not sure why it's not more well known. I guess they do not feel they need to advsertise because they get such great word of mouth :)

I think that is great your planning to take your scales with you on your trip and eat 100% cohens. It can be very difficult on holidays but as long as you plan and organise yourself before hand, you'll do fine, and feel great for it, well done!!!

Well done as well on the first 2kgs, those kgs will be flying off in no time with you're awesome attitude!! Hope to hear back from you again soon, it is always great to read a fresh diary!

Cheers
Kristy

Hi dietgrrl!

Their clinic in KL is at Mont Kiara.. how come it took so long for you to start? I was so excited about starting it.. got it on the 22nd friday and started on the 23rd Jan straight away.. but believe me... the first day was the toughest! I even dreamt during the night that I ate mcdonalds and all that hard work for the first day was a waste! Haha luckily it was all but a dream.. i did get a HUGE headache and slept at nine the first day..

Yes I'm going away with the oles to Chiangmai and Bangkok.. so looking forward to it.. I have not done any clothes shopping for donkey years.. wasnt always in the mood to try new clothes as was feeling down from the weight I gained.. shopping here I come! :) Right to answer your question, I'm eating Nestle fat free for my yogurt and i mix it with mangoes.. just blend em together. and jacob low salt high fibre .. that's what I always have in the morning or sometimes I just fry an egg and cook brown mushroom and tomato with it..

Well good luck to you too! :)

Hi Kristy!

Wow.. you lost so much weight already!! I'm so happy for you! You must be looking so great!! :) You must do your before and after photos okay! :) Puh leaaaase

Hi Cate!

So glad you read my post! I feel like I know you already! I hope you do continue to give me the odd advice on things like you do with the others. How are you doing so far? You're like a senior here aye? ;) Tell me about yourself!

Sorry it took so long to reply! I didnt expect people would actually reply to my post as there are so many new ones that keep poping up! But to the ones who did.. thanks so much.. it made my day! :)

Right.. I weigh myself last saturday and this time around only lost 600gram.. I take it maybe because of TOM.. I'm not too worried though.. So far.. everything is going well.. I'm kindda lazy in figuring out what to cook.. kindda found what I like to eat hence I'm only sticking to the 2 main meals I always have.. hmm

Tis a bit harder for me to eat protein and veges only .. as a Malaysian, rice is the staple diet.. no wonder one of my friend's grandma in NZ choose not to eat any asian food as she said it spoils the tastebud! Hahaha

Mentally, I have been able to resist temptation. I think my body just got use to eating the food I'm eating and I do look forward to my food! :) Actually, it doesnt feel so bad.. I fast during the fasting month and it's worst then! For when it comes to eating time.. I would want to eat sooooo many different things and most of the time they are all sweets. I didn't loose any weight last year.. for I think I made up for the lack of meals during breaking of the fast .. tsk tsk tsk

I know I shouldnt be exercising too much but I think now is the time for me to exercise and I'm eating the proper food ya know? It's like it gives me the drive as I know what I'm doing now is the right thing for my body.. thanks to Dr Cohen indeed! I watch the biggest loser and even joined Jillian online but nothing happened as well!! Can't believe myself.. paid so much and didnt gain anything from it.

Well, now that i've bought her video.. at that time, it wasn't available here.. I'm trying to follow it at home.. ahhhhhh comfort of home .. nothing beats it! I even paid for a gym membership for 2 years and I can count with both hands how many times i went..

This is it as michael jackson quoted! This time its going to happen and ain't no way am I going to deviate..

By the way, quick question... I read that celery helps to get rid of water retention.. do any of you think that i could make a juice out of the celery and that be counted as my vege portion or not?

ehrose- You can juice your vegetable allowance but I think having the fibre is very important & it would be hard to have the correct weight. Usually the fibrous part of a vegetable or fruit is discarded. Be very careful of excessive exercise as it may make you very hungry & possibly dizzy. You are not eating a lot of calories/kilojoules (ie energy) on Cohen's. I find I have to eat quite a bit more than normal if I exercise much & I am on Cohen's maintenance, not the weight-loss part of the program. Please take care & keep an eye on how it makes you feel.
Bye for now, Cate

ehrose, I think I started about 10 days before you did. I can't remember - feels like a long time ago!

Listen to Cate, she's got some sage advice. :) While the food we're getting on Cohen is healthy, don't forget that it's tailored to your lifestyle now - i.e. if you haven't been exercising regularly, don't over do it because as Cate says, it would make you hungry.

Good to hear that you're doing well re: no deviations!

Hi ya'all,

I was doing some exercise prior to Cohen.. and yes, I'm watching after myself.. the exercise I'm doing are not that stressful.. only 20 mins 3 times a week.. :)

Thanks for the concern!
