I know your not suppose to eat like 3 hours before going to sleep at night, but what if your really hungry you cant sleep? shouldnt you eat something? What would be the best thing to eat before bed?

that is a great question! i find that i usually eat too fast, get full fast at dinner, and then a few hours later i'm hungry again. I need to eat slower at dinner and that would help... but sometimes i need to stay up as much as 5 hours after i eat dinner... what are some good snacks before bed? and how long should you eat before going to sleep?

this is just my personal opinion, but if you were really hungry before bed, I'd have something small. Its hard to sleep when your hungry. I would suggest a piece of toast, or maybe a small apple or banana.

definately keep it small ... i can't sleep if i have too much before bed. A glass of water always helps me, but that's only if it doesn't cause me to wake up in the middle of night to stagger to the bathroom.

haha. I usually have a small glass of water too.. I was told not to eat lots of carbs at night. I'm not sure if its true or not, but keep that in mind.

Yes I agree with no carbs at night, or even within 4 hours of sleeping. And excellent prebed snack is cottage cheese, or a protein shake lol. I have 2 meals after dinner, but I'm not on a calorie deficit either. Cottage cheese is I think 120 calories for half a cup. Protein shake can be 300 if with milk or 130 with water. Just don't eat carbs before bed!!!!!

Dear Hungry Before Bed

Personally I think if you must have something before bed, Which I also Need a bed time snack and I choose either a protein drink or a serving of cottage cheese. Our bodies continue to work throughout the night and need energy to run and function properly.... I dont think it's when you eat, I think it's what you eat...

Hope this helped

when you eat has a lot to do with weight loss. if you eat one time daily 1200 calories right before bed, it is not the same as eating 6 times daily at 200 per meal. protein shakes are good, but cottage cheese is excellent, being that its a slow acting protein and its also delicious

Errtu140 Great answer and I agree with you 100%. I carry a lunch box with me in the car. I made myself a promise to never be hungry. I do eat 5/6 daily in mini portions. I carry Oatmeal, Fruit, Protein Drinks, Cottage Cheese and Garnola with me...

Do you really eat oatmeal? How do you make it taste better? Just the oats is gross to me and want a healthy way to make it better.

you can also put in some chopped up apples and a bit of sugar before you cook it.. it gives it a great flavour. There are also those instant Quaker Oatmeal stuff. I love those!

OATMEAL ROCKS !!!!! Like YOUGURT? I have 2 packages of plain oatmeal each day with a low calorie fruit type yougurt in it...It Taste Great.

Heck, i like plain yougurt too...Am not a picky eater...I actually like healthy foods...My main problem has been there are people in the house that dont need to Lose , SO there is always junk food around...I dont saty away from it !!!

I also like Soups, Salads, Tuna etc for lunches
Fish, Chicken, Fresh Veggies for dinner
Snacks: Yougurt , Protein Bars (Post or pre workout) Veggies/Fruit Cottage Cheese, Popcorn....

Just a few idea's from my Lunch Box

I have never thought to put yogurt in it...hmmm I'll have to try that.

I've been eating vanilla yogurt with starberries for breakfast and totally loving it!

you shouldn't be so strict,2 hours before bedtime is enough!
and if you're really hungry, you should have something small, like a croissant or a small sandwich!it'll be enough!
