i eat super healthy as it is but i still wanting to cut out calories from my diet in a bid to loose 10lb.
My diet mainly consists of dried fruit and nuts, fish, brown rice, veg, assorted beans and pulses (especially lentils).
i was wondering just how rich in calories are bean style things and lentils. i eat mainly green and puy lentils and loads os aduki beans, butter beans, kidney beans. Is there a less calorific bean out there? i love em! Is it worth cutting down or cutting out beans and pulses or another lower energy alternative?

If you're looking for easy ways to cut back, I'd trade the dried fruit for fresh, myself.

Beans and legumes are an awesome, nutritious way to substitute meat. A portion of these beans or legumes are a portion of protein, therefore you will be getting no animal fat at this meal!

The following beans are cool to eat like this: Haricot, sugar, butter, kidney and jugo.

Other plant foods to use instead of meat for protein:

Chana Dal
Chickpeas
Split peas
Lentils
Soy beans

Hope that helps!

thanks for that! thast a great help! I'm not veggie, i dont eat much red meat as im trying to cut down, i dont really eat much meat in general! i eat alot of fish though! i just have bean addicted for some reason! hehe. I do find that i get incredibly bloated from them....and...ermmm....gassy! lol, oh well, keeps me entertained!
