Breakfeast:
Usually ~ 500-700cals.
Low fat yogurt parfait or sometimes (once a week) omlet

Lunch~ 1000cals
Salad, sometimes dressing, no crutons.

Dinner:
anyones guess??

Bottom line, I'm consuming ~ 1900-2200cals a day.

I'm a 19 yr old male, 5'9 and 195 lbs. I'd like to drop 15-20 lbs.

Weekends...oh man I go on vacation. Usually very active, will go dancing or clubbing, usually some drinking involved etc etc.

My job requires me to sit all day. I spend probably 1-2hrs a day up moving around, moving computers and stuff around, etc etc.

I figured for my age and weight, I would require ~3000 cals a day?

And I'm drinking boat loads of water, and my bathroom habbits reveal that.

Anyways, I'd like to start dropping 1-2lbs a week, any ideas???

I'm lightly active
I don't eat much
I drink Water

What am I doing wrong?

I am getting an apartment here near my work in August, I'll be withing 2-4 miles of work, so I am just going to ride a bicycle to and from work, saves on gas at $3/ga too =]

I would start an exercise routine during the after-work hours. I'd start with walking 30 mins to an hour. Go easy on dinner, 3000 cals a day is a lot if you want to lose weigth fast. This is actually very difficult to do at first, but give your body a week or two to adjust to the reduced amont of food. You can also try split a big dinner into 2 smaller meals. Say if you normally eat 2 slices of pizza at 6 PM. You can try have one slice at 5:30 and another one at 7:30.

The key is to build lean muscle tissue with weight training/resistance movements. By adding muscle, your body will burn excess calories throughout the day. For each pound of muscle that you add to your body, you burn an additional 35 to 50 calories per day. So, an extra 10 pounds of muscle will burn approximately 350 to 500 calories a day, or an extra pound of fat every 7 to 10 days, without making any other changes. Also, regular weight training boosts basal metabolic rate by about 15%. This is because muscle is 'metabolically active ' and burns more calories than other body tissue even when you're not moving.

Hope this helps :)
