Back again

i had lost 17kg by the end of October or there abouts. Change in anxiety medication id been on for 7 years had a very bad affect, months of comfort eating, even skipping the occasional meal which was replaced by a "snack" of 1200 calories of yoghurt coated nuts on some occasions. I think we all the know the health effects of that kind malnutrition...

I am just starting to re establish healthy habit, sorry if i make things over dramatic...a bit of me is angry or self critical over this. Which is a very counter productive way to treat myself and doesnt do anything positive for making me feel better about things and feeling bad was probably one of the reasons i started eating more...

Whats important is that i feel able to get control over my unhealthy eating and develop some positive, mood enhancing eating habits.

I also feel very positive and i know that is the mentality i need to develop to change things and bear through difficult times. With a negative attitude, every bump is felt more keenly and it saps your drive or motivation to push through things. Positivity is certainly something that i find empowering. If you think you cant succeed before you even try your more likely to not bother or not have the persistence to push through...and this behaviour reinforces itself as people dont even try doing things they think they will fail at and of course they dont get things done because they dont even try.

Emotional topic im sure you can tell. omg i ramble alot lol

Any recommended weight tracking apps or paper based tools people would recommend etc ?

Hey Hark, welcome to the forum!

My recommendation is to start a diary on the Weight Loss Diary page, https://weight-loss.fitness.com/forums/weight-loss-diary.9/

That is about the only tool I use, however I know others will have more specific suggestions for you. In the diary you can tell us more about yourself and your goals, and you will find a lot of smart, knowledge and friendly people there to help.
omg i ramble alot
Rambling is not only allowed here, its welcome.

Hello, Hark! Good to have you around! :)

In terms of paper-based tools: I amuse myself/encourage myself by drawing up graphs of intended weight loss, and then filling them in, bit by bit - the current one is just seven days long, with the days as the horizontal axis and the starting weight-interim goal weight as the vertical axis. I have been known to draw in pictures of my imagined self at various stages (but seven days is too short for that) and noting what rewards I'll be granting myself on reaching various pre-defined points. That way, I have the pleasure of seeing my progress day by day, and the consolation of noting the overall trend if one day or more doesn't go down.
Plus, there's the certainty of what I was at any one point, too, and the chance (for seven days, this won't be relevant) to write in "Uncle Tim's Wedding Banquet" or whatever, to hint at things that might have impacted one way or another., and a reminder of what I'm aiming for.

Cronometer is excellent for tracking and does not have the drawback of highly inaccurate food entries in the database like other tracking sites which allow users to add foods for other users which are completely wrong.
