B vitamins!!? I'm freaking out!

Okay, so I've been trying to gain weight for the past several weeks. I decided to try whey protein for the first time and it seems like an easy to get extra calories and protein in throughout the day.

So anyway I noticed that lately, I've been really dehydrated, and my urine has taken on a greenish color. I've never seen this before so I looked up "green urine" and it said that it can be caused by an excess of B vitamins. I looked at the nutrition facts of my protein powder, and sure enough it was very high in B6 and somewhat high in B12. We're talking 90% of the daily requirement of B6 in ONE serving. I've been drinking 2-3 shakes a day.

Basically, I'm concerned that this may be having an adverse affect on me. Does anyone know anything about B vitamins or green urine and what on earth it means?

B vitamins should make it a bright neon. As I know of some foods, medications, and certain food colorings will make it appear green.

I'm no expert, but I'm trying to remember and here's what I remember....

B12 helps with memory and other things. Overdose of this can produce everything from a rash to liver problems.

B6 balances sodium and potassium levels. Typical side effects include water retention problems, I believe.

There are many different types of vitamin B, and going above the upper limit on each would have a different effect. If you feel fine, and your pee is bright neon (not green) then I'd say you're okay. If you don't feel fine, and your pee is actually green, then go and see an MD.

B6 and B3 are then only two I've ever seen problems from, and the symptoms are nothing like yours.

EDIT B6 does many many many things in the body, I think it's a coenzyme to about 100 enzymes solely in protein metabolism!

I don't think I need to post a sample, but it's beginning to clear up. I realized that the juice I've been drinking has high levels of Vitamin B6 and 12 and I've been drinking that in addition to the protein powder. I just took everything down a notch. It's still a little bright, but not near as bright green as it was before.
