Aspartame, whats the 411

I know That when it 1st came about there was a bit of Kerfuffle over aspartame.

Some dude proved it caused cancer, then another dude proved it didnt. In the end they agreed to disagree, untill another dude came along in the 90's, and said
"Dude, really, it's fine." - I think his name was FDA or somthing.

Anyway, he drunk some and didnt get cancer so the other dudes were like, "yeah ok, we'll put that in cola and tonnes of other foods" - and they did.

So... I heard thru the grape-vine (oh honey honey, not much longer will you be my baby) that they are thinking about putting it in the cancer box again.

Is this true or did I just dream it?
If they did, would cola and other companies be able to do a swapsy and put something not so cancery in it, or would it be the end of diet coke? Does Cola Zero have aspatame?

Also being British, I'm not really sure what the "411" is ether, so if someone could let me know that would be dandy!!!! ta

In a nutshell, it has been proven beyond any doubt that long term regular exposure (somewhere around 1 can of diet soda per day, whatever that means) will most likely give you brain tumors in a couple decades.

Personally, I know of someone it happened to as well.

Aside from that sort of thing, all the lab studies done indicate that the chemical simply does ugly things to brain tissue resulting in impared functionality with side effects typically including headaches. For most people, tumors will not be an issue as consumption is not high enough.

Of course, adding nutrasweet to everything can totally change that overnight. Look what cane sugar did for diabetes.

Another key point: Any amount of a diet beverage kept in a non-refridgerated environment causes the chemical to seperate, which causes a concentration issue. The heavier the concentration, the more damage it does in the body, of course.

All in all, as we already know, any manmade chemical should NEVER be consumed: The body does not treat it right and WILL suffer damage at some time. Nutrasweet/aspartame is no different.

-And as a side note, "411" is slang for "getting information". -But I am not supposed to know that based on my demographics.
:D

Well I seem to hav "411"ed about aspatame. Becasue of what I had heard Ive been avoiding it for years, But I still have in a lucozade drink. And guess what? - yeah its a powder mix.

The problem is the dont tell you how much Aspatame is in it. It take about 6weeks for me to get thru a tub and god knows how long its been sitting in the shop.

So ditch it and go with pure dextrose yeah?

aparently Aspatame is 150 time sweeter that sugar. Damn! thats pretty sweet.
