Sport As convienient as a choc bar?

Eating heathy food definately effects my mood.

But it's hard work.

What heathy food can you think of that doesn't need:

- preparing
- refridgeration

A protain source too? Whey cakes?
 
Why not carry around a lunchbox or small cooler? I keep one with me almost always so I don't have any excuses
Most protein sources (eggs, chicken, tuna, etc.) need refrigeration - well, except canned tuna. Protein shakes would work. I don't have any off hand, but I do know some good homemade protein "bar" recipes.
 
You can always go buy freshly prepared foods at a number of whole food stores/restaurants -- but it's so much more expensive that way.
 
i agree about the cooler, i find i'm carrying a small one around a lot these days - usually in my car. that way you can keep whatever you need with you, saves some money, too.
 
When I go on long bike rides I always carry a bag of nuts and dried fruits (raisins, dried figs, dates) or an almond butter sandwich. I also find those baby carrots are really convenient to pack and snack on. Most fresh fruits are convenient too although not adequate protein sources.
