Are pickled gherkins to be avoided?

I noticed pickled gherkins are low in calories but they are pickled at the end of the day so are they going to benefit me? Or will they just jack up the carbs?
 
The pickles have 15 calories per 100g

Sodium 0.7g and 1.8g salt equivilent every 100g

Is this alot or is it best avoiding and snacking on something else?
 
unless you have high blood pressure or told to be on a low sodium diet, then pickles aren't going to harm you.

It is calories in, calories out and many 'diets' (hate that word) do suggest pickles as a snack.
