Are abs worth the trouble and suffering?

I am just currently reading on how to get sexy abs, and wow...I must say it takes alot of hard work, dedication and suferring[i/] meaning you cant eat what you want, you must go on a really strict diet. I thought it was just do X amount of sit-up's and crunches and lay off the fatty foods.

It appears to be much more harder than that, you must go on a real strict diet, also it depends on you genes too? I read somewhere that if you dont have those sexy abs everybody wants then you just dont have it (that sucks). For me, as of right now, I dont think they are worth it...that is just my opinion though and it might change in the future. :eek:
 
bah...i dont have a six pack but i had a four pack and i gotta tell you it is only hard developing them at the beginning. Even that is not that hard. Anyways, after you get them, it isnt hard to keep them as long as you dont splurge on your diet and are still weight training. Many every day activites stimulate the abs so they need less work that you think. Ex: if you lift weights, even the exercises that dont target the abs still stimulate them b/c you almost always use core strength through exercise. A six pack is hard to get though. you have to have very low body fat and you must keep it low so that you can see them. It all depends on how bad you want them and how hard you are willing to work to keep your diet straight.
 
That is what I am talking about, even if you go on a very strict diet and end up having a low body fat the six-pack still isnt guaranteed right? because its either you have them or you dont in your genes.

I believe that anybody can make their abs show (a 6-pack) but the bf % varies...
 
abs are like any other muscle: they grow when you train them correctly. If you have like 8% body fat and still cant see them than, you just havent been working your abs at all or not efficiently enough.
 
It takes more than just ab workouts and eating right. You have to do cardio like running, swimming and biking. That is what burns the fat. I got my abs to show by doing cardio to burn the fat then ab workouts to build up the muscles and tone them so that they show. And, yeah. They are definately worth the pain. Girls like em'.
