Ok, so I never really did sports in hs, but I've somewhat gotten into running as my favorite form of cardio since I started working out consistently for the first time about 2 and a half months ago.
Trouble is, whenever I start out my day running a few miles (ESPECIALLY on the days when I have work at Jamba Juice and am on my feet for 5 or 6 hours) my arches KILL. Especially my left one. Sometimes it won't feel that bad and BAM shooting pains for a few minutes.
Anyway...I'm thinking, I was born with my knee joint ever so slightly disalighned so that I definitely turn my feet in a little when I walk if I don't pay attention to it. I try and run correctly, but I'm worried that because of this, I'm stressing the wrong parts of my feet and might be doing perma damage (versus just extreme soreness)? I tried running on the awesome track we have at my university gym, but the pain is still there. I also got new shoes specifically for running...still no luck. I'm thinking of sticking to ellipticals/maybe swimming but damn, its a shame because I was really getting into running!! (Something I NEVER thought possible).
I guess what I'm asking for is:
a) advice on what the actual problem may be...besides general arch pain issues that come up when googled
b) advice on ways make sure I'm putting my feet down in the right way so that maybe I can try and run without the pain afterwards?
c) accessories/strategies to take the pain away/ie I'm still hoping that its just extreme soreness and not an actual ailment problem :x
