Apples

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if apples are bad for you before or after a run. I was just wondering because the track coaches at our school don't like us eating apples after we run.

Apples are great for you. It is the timing of when you eat themn that is important. Because of an apple's texture and fiber content, it requires alot of digestive aids...blood being one of them. Blood carries enzymes that aid in breaking down foods in your intestines and stomach. If you eat apples (or anything for that matter), you may experience cramps, "stitches", or pain in your sides. You may also get tired sooner than later. Try eating something lighter before running....yogurt, pudding, or meal replacment shake.
