I am wondering if I will benefit from taking Apex Anabolic Amino Xtreme? Here is the link to it



I am looking to increase size and strength, but if its a waste I won't purchase it. Thank you!
 
I don't know you, your current size, your calorie intake, or your nutrient breakdown, but most of the time, supplements are a waste. First thing's first. Make sure you have your meal plan in good condition before you start supplementing it with anything.

While it's true that there are varying levels of quality, safety and efficacy with dietary supplements (because the FDA does not fully police the industry), there are many products available that are supported by peer-reviewed, published scientific literature. It is the consumer's responsibility to seek out the research behind dietary supplements that interest them, and to ensure that such products are manufactured using GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

The Apex Amino Xtreme is one of those products that meet both criteria.

Because you did not state your goal, current training routine, or nutritional status, I will explain what the Apex Amino Xtreme does (according to research), and who it is for. As such, this is going to be a lengthy post, and for that, I apologize. You can then use this information to determine if it is right for you.

The goal of the Apex Amino Xtreme: To supply the proper amino acid combination that has been shown to increase exercise-induced protein synthesis (when compared to normal feeding alone) and deliver them at ideal times in order to maximize “intense training-induced specific windows” of opportunities for anabolism that take place throughout the day. Proper ingestion would maximize the unique muscle protein synthesis mechanism that is activated through the feeding of amino acids (AA) and potentially lead to greater strength and size gains especially when exercise-induced results have stabilized (i.e., the training plateau).

It has been well demonstrated that amino acid feeding stimulates protein synthesis independently of all other mechanisms. Resistance training stimulates an increase in the synthetic rate of muscle proteins and a concomitant increase in the rate of breakdown.

Following exercise, protein balance is negative until amino acids are provided. The feeding-induced stimulation of protein synthesis (PS) has been shown to be independent of insulin and probably due to the increased delivery of amino acids to muscle. In addition, the effects of feeding and exercise stimulation on protein synthesis are independent and additive. Therefore, because feeding and exercise induce protein synthesis by different mechanisms, if delivered closely in combination (e.g., before and/or after exercise), protein synthesis at that point in time can be maximized.

The Anabolic Amino Xtreme supplement contains an essential amino acid (EAA) composition that mimics the skeletal muscle amino acid profile with the purpose of increasing the availability of essential amino acids in proportion to their requirement for muscle protein synthesis (MPS). There also appears to be a dose-dependent effect of essential amino acid ingestion on muscle protein synthesis and a dose limit. Under most conditions there appears to be no additional increase in muscle protein synthesis beyond a 12 g dose. Additionally, as mentioned above, Borsheim et al., neatly demonstrated that amino acid ingestion following exercise stimulates muscle protein synthesis independent of all other mechanisms (calories, insulin, exercise, etc.). The authors calculated that the amino acid feeding’s independent contribution to muscle protein synthesis was ~ 26 g of added muscle tissue (including muscles water content) per workout day.

Other studies have confirmed that under normal diet conditions, the essential amino acids are primarily responsible for the amino acid-induced stimulation of muscle protein synthesis.

From these results and other related recent studies, the total amount of essential amino acids supplementation that might maximize muscle protein synthesis, appears lie between 6 and 12 g depending on size, intensity and workout volume and should be consumed two to three times on training days with the most important two feedings close to the exercise period.

With all due respect, it's very easy to take 15 seconds and write one's opinion about something that they've done no research on, or have even tried themselves. Anyone can be a critic - that's why there are so many in this World.

Before I take any supplement of any kind, I take personal responsibility for learning about it from credible (peer-reviewed, published) sources. My intention with the lengthy post was to share what I was able to find, in hopes of helping bg182 make a decision for themselves, objectively.

The product itself has helped me with my training recovery and performance immensely. Beyond the hope of sharing that experience and what I've learned with others (which is the purpose of a forum such as this), I have no vested interest in whether anyone on this post uses this or any other products on the market.
