anyone try the ab lounge?

So I had scoliosis as a child and had corrective surgery so now I have rods in my spine. In the last month or so I have started trying to get into a fitness routine. I can lift weights to build my arms and use the cardio machines for my legs but am having trouble targeting my abs. I've attempted squats but since I can't bend my spine it feels like I'm working out my neck but not by abs.

Anyways, I went to a fitness store and they said I should try the ab lounge. So now I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it and had good/bad results. Also does anyone know the difference between the ab lounge 2 and the ab lounge ultra (other than 50 dollars)

I have a Tony Little AB lounge Xtreme that worked great.

When you say results, what kind of results are you speaking of? No special machine is going to give you the abs you desire, but YOUR DIET WILL give the abs you desire---the MOST.

They may firm and tighten (possibly things along this nature), but fat reduction------NOT HAPPENEN.

I'm not looking to lose much weight. I've always been a pretty thin person. Mostly I'm trying to tone up some and prevent myself from gaining weight now that I'm getting into my mid-twenties. I've got a relatively flat stomach already, so I just want to tone it up a bit.

Idea for Abs

I had the same surgery you did when I was twelve. I thought nothing could help my abs, but a good exercise for me is the exercise ball.

Lie with your back on the floor with the ball between your feet and your hands above your head. Lift the ball above your waist with your feet and transfer it to your hands. Lower the ball with your hands above your head while lowering your feet down to the floor again. Then do the same thing, transferring the ball from your hands to your feet, letting your feet guide the ball back to the floor. Repeat. Be careful not to raise your neck too much, although this is unavoidable. Try to picture your abs crunching together...does that make sense?

After fifteen years of NEVER being able to do a sit up, this really worked, and made my abs so SORE. It felt so good to find an exercise that actually worked for me.
Good luck!

My friend recently gave me an ab lounger 2. I had the corrective surgery for scoliosis as a teenager so I have been looking to target my abs. So far so good, I can feel a difference, but it's only been a few days. I haven't had any pain(other than the norm). I have two children and I know how frustrating it can be to not be able to target your abs. I'm not overweight, I don't think, lol. But I really want to get into shape so I'm going to give this a try. I'll keep you posted if you'd like.
