Anyone take Biotin

I just started taking 20 mg of biotin per day as i'm told it helps with motabolism, and leads to healthy hair, eyes, and skin. Its from natures bounty it says to take 1 5mg pill a day. But I figure if I take 2 twice a day i'll get much more benifits. Anyone else take this?

Why can't I take 4? Just for awhile to see if it shows results. Isn't it true that any extra pills or vitamins I don't need will just be pissed out?

You don't know that for sure. Your body may only be able to handle a certain amount of whatever is in those pills at one time. For example, If you take several multivitatmins at once, you run a DANGEROUS RISK of taking in too much iron, which will lead to iron poisoning (and stomach pumping if you can make it to a hospital).

I don't know exactly what is in those pills, but if they do what they say they can do, it sounds like whatever is in those pills isn't something your body is used to processing. Take one pill at a time like the bottle says.

If that were entirely true, then how could people overdose on pain killers? Basic nutrients react differently in the body than drugs do, but the body can still only handle so much before it just rejects whatever you are doing to it.

Secondly, if you want healthier skin, hair, etc etc...get fish oil and flax oil supplements instead. Getting a complete and balanced diet should come first. Fish oil is supposed to help with hair and skin too. Screw Biotin or whatever the hell it's called.

Biotin doesn't appear to have a known toxicity level.

but that doesn't mean 'more is better'. if excess is just 'pissed out' that means you're working your kidneys harder than necessary by forcing them to filter out excess biotin.
plus, it costs more.

lol... It's b vitamins. I don't even know why you bought them.
