Anyone finish the HP books yet? (spoilers possible)

I just finished last night. I tried to keep myself to reading 100 pages a night and I did well. I was afraid I would read it all in one night. I really enjoyed it. I think she pulled off Severus really well. I wish it could have lasted longer. There are some things that make me want to be a better person, and this was certainly one of them!

The way Harry killed Voldemort was so unbelievably dull that I nearly cried.

And so much for the killing off of two major characters. It was a freaking blood bath. And come to think of it that poor Teddy Lupin, in the most bare epilogue I have ever read, was in a Hogwarts carraige. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but he would theoretically be 19. Shouldn't he have left?

^My confusions of Harry Potter. Lol.

Agreed. It was almost like Star Trek in that it was gadget-driven rather than character-driven.

I also thought it was stupid for her to contrive that Harry had been immortal throughout the entire series. Way to gut any excitement, risk, or danger out of the entire series there, J.K.

Of course, you have to realize the expectations had put a lot of pressure on her. Most classic series typically go for a trilogy, not 7 books, with the exception of T.A. Barron's Merlin series which is seldom mentioned in the same paragraph as Rowling's work. I agree, it was somewhat dragged out.

Nonetheless, I still found it deeper than any of the others. There was a lot more deep undertone, in my opinion. It illustrated society's prejudice, and selfishness more than it captivated action.
