You should talk to Phate. He's been a lot of places! Spain, France... Michael Jackson's underpants.

wtf???? what was that

Just a little joke. But he really did go to Spain recently.. there's even a thread somewhere where people offered suggestions and such on where to go and whatnot, if you run a search. "Which European country should I vacation to?" or something like that, was the title.

I like to try to be helpful and crazy/obnoxious at the same time. It's more efficient than doing them separately. ;)

Edit: Oh, here's a link to that thread.

Yea, I recommend trying to find a friend to go with, but if you end up going to one of the canary islands especially Tenerife, you wont have trouble meeting new people and making friends.

Spain was great, beautiful country and beautiful beaches.

Other than the fact its an island filled with 80% young people?

It's pretty much a party island.

Clubs, dancing, loud music, thousands of restaurants, bars and karoake ( sp? ) on every corner.

And then theres parts of the island where you can go do some tourist stuff like museums, botanical garden, etc, etc.

Loro Parque, Mount Tiede and uh, shopping. I think that's about it in Tenerife. I went a couple of years back and it's a pretty cool island. The only other parts of Spain I've been to are Ibiza, Mallorca and Alicante so never in a big city. I've heard that Barcelona is fantastic though

Oh yea. I heard the Loro Parque was pretty cool. There were signs advertising it all over the island, never got to go though.

aww thanks, very interesting stuff. My driving test has been pushed back and i didnt wanna spend any money until i got that, so spain might have to wait till next year, sad i know. im thinking of applying for my passport on my week off, which starts next monday

Yea. Next year would probably be smarter because once you apply for your passport, it takes several weeks to get processed. And by then it would be September and summer would be over. Would be smarter to wait till next year by June/July

I went in Febuary, all I can say is if you use the subway, keep your bag so close to you and be wary - there are so many pickpockets targetting tourists there its unbelivable.

I wont go back there, but its worth a couple of days, go to La Rambla and see the various Guadi (spell that right??) architecture examples including the still unfinished Sangrada Familliar (again... spelling!!)

If you can go in Spetember Ryanair are offering £15 return tickets to Barcelona from Stanstead of about £25 from Bournemouth if that's closer to you
