Any tips to jump higher?

Hi, I hope I can get effective answers here as I am really desperate for getting information on how to be able to jump higher. I am not quiet tall, just mere 5'6" , but I believe performance is better than height. I am a basketball player and I do train everyday, mostly foot works. I also wear ankle weights but I am not seeing any improvement.

This is just my opinion, but I think it would help you if you included these exercises into your program

Explosiveness:
Box jumps and/or squat jumps
Skipping (with a skipping rope)
Lateral jumps
High reach and tuck jumps

Strength:
Squats and lunge variations

I'm not saying to do all of these exercises in one go - I'm just giving you some ideas of exercises that I think will be helpful to you.

Apparently the athletes with the best vertical jumps are Olympic weightlifters. So snatch and clean and jerk will be beneficial for jumping. Combined with plyometrics like depth jumps and you'll probably see an improvement in your jumping.

Easiest way to jump higher:

1. Work squats.
2. Work plyometrics in. Get a marker pen and a wall you don't mind marking. Every other day, do a simple vertical jump test to try and beat your previous mark.
3. Do this with hopping as well. Do it with hands down and hands up above your head. Try variations.

Don't jump with weights. It's really going to do more damage than good.
