well my father called me a few weeks ago to renew his license so i do that on top of getting the list of things he wanted. Im his only child that will do whatever he asks. well yesterday he emails me to get him a few more things before i send the package out(hes from another country) he asks me to send my brother and mine birth certificates so he can get citizenship for us. why on earth would i want that? i never been to that country in my life and dont plan to in the near future either. ive asked him and he just tells me that and nothing else and to just send it. i dont want to believe him. i dont think i would get screwe over by my father but you never know. i asked my sister and she says my dad use to sell info to illegals to this country.. then i asked my mom and she says he probably wants it for that.. and since they both LOVE to talk crap about him i dont know if what my sister said is true or they are just saying stuff to talk.

If it's not what you want, don't do it. Ask him to explain why he wants it first.

Bottom line: If YOU don't want citizenship of that country, then don't send your information, whether he wants you to or not.

The question you need to ask yourself is this:

Why does HE want you to have citizenship of that country?


If he has a past history of selling info and doesn't even live with you or in the same country it may well be he is selling info. Money can be a stronger motivation than family.

Personally I would say no and be done with it. If my mother made an odd request of me in such a way and would not explain why, I would also refuse.

Just common sense.
