I started doing High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) yesterday and wanted to know if any body ever try this and it worked,

If so, what program did you you use and how much did you lose and how long did it take?

Currrently, my method is:

Monday- HIIT 30sec brisk walk, 30 sec sprint 8-intervals

Tuesday- 30 min jog/walk and workout video

Wednesday- HIIT 30sec brisk walk, 30 sec sprint 8-intervals

Thursday- 30 min jog/walk and workout video

Friday- HIIT 30sec brisk walk, 30 sec sprint 8-intervals

Saturday- 30 min jog/walk and workout video

Sunday-off

Any stories? Any suggestions?

I've heard a lot of good feedback from people who have done HIIT. It's a good way to increase your aerobic "capacity," as well as help preserve lean mass better than steady-state cardio. But typically, it's only supposed to be done 1 or 2 days per week, if you're truly doing high intensity. Basically, the higher the intensity, the more recovery your body needs. If you do it every day, you're more at risk for developing injuries or symptoms of overtraining.

If you're not doing super high intensity, then your plan should be OK. Although, for the first few weeks, it might be a good idea to take 2 rest days, just until your body gets used to the exercise.

Good luck with it, let us know what your progress is!
