Any good calisthenics books?

I'm looking to start a calisthenics regimen, but I am not sure where to start. Anybody read any good books on the subject. It would be good if the book was based on some science, and spoke of routines as well as the individual exercises. Thanks.

Good books

I would suggest Ross Emanint's books. I have the precursor to his bodyweight book Never Gymless. That has a lot of routines and even has a 50-day training program included, I believe.

If you want a different look at bodyweight exercises, I'd suggest Naked Warrior by Pavel. It only talks about two exercises, but the principles discussed in the book can be applied to any kind of strength training.

While you're there, check out Coach Sommer's article on Building the Gymnastic Body, which talks about planche and front lever progressions. Those will make you strong and build muscle.

Good luck!
