Another Post in my diary-

Amy's Diary

Well I have been going to the gym as much as I possibly can I try to do strength training on my upper body at least 3 times a week and on my lower body at least 3 times a week cardio about 4-5 times a week. I'm not very strong like alot of people on this forum are. The trainer told me to start off slow 3 sets 12 reps of like 40-60 lbs depending on what part of my body I'm working on for the next month, to do my cardio which I love to do I started to take ab classes this week I went to my 1st one yesterday but they cut it short which made me upset :( I am planning on taking a yoga or pilates class and to start dancing again, just to give my workouts a bit of variety. I weighed myself yesterday at 137lbs. i am eating much better. I have been reading and researching and need to take in more protein and add some wheat and grains to my "eating habits". I'm having trouble keeping focused on the weekends because I work so much I'm constantly on the go. :( Well I think thats about it for my diary for this week-

Why so many

Why do you start a new thread everytime you make a "diary entry"? Why not just keep it in one thread. Noone will see your old posts as they get moved down, and its just a waste of space. A diary should have many pages and be kept together.

The topic said "Another post in..." but I couldnt find the previous ones until I scrolled down to multiple single posts.

Nureyes, this is just my opinion, but you seem to be overtraining a bit. Strength training 6 days a week, plus 4-5 of those days you include cardio or a class. Do you feel you are getting enough rest between your workouts ? Some people recover more quickly than others, maybe your exercise schedule is right for you, just seems like a bit much to me. JMO. I really like your idea of variety, definitely good for motivation and your body. Glad to see that you are eating better also. Don't forget lots of water also. :)

Thanks for acknowledging my small weight loss! I'm still working out and eating as healthy as I can. I really only drink water if I feel like drinking something w/flavor I usually turn to crystal light. Right now my most concern is when the weekend comes I usually work promotions and I don't get to go to the gym & when I work sometimes I don't get but a 5 or 10 min break depending on the promotion. The company I work for asked me to help promote Mens Fitness Magazine this weekend in Houston at the Mens Fitness Magazine Tour! I was so excited! Unfortunately I already signed up for a different promotion which pays me more, but I was still happy and felt a bit honored to be considered. When I work out I get into this high or something where I want to start running faster, I make myself run as long as I possibly can, I know thats bad for me,the most I'll run is 35 mins at a steady pace or I would run and change the level of intensity higher and run as much as I can. My dad said I need to stop because Im over doing it because the next day or too I am so sore it's sometimes hard to walk. I tell myself ok run this amount but once I start I don't want to stop. I take a day or too off or wait till my muscles are not as sore, in between I do Yoga or work on my upper body. Right now I'm looking into whey protein, I know I don't get enough protein. Well thats it for todays diary!

My eating habits are slipping :( yesterday on the way home from the gym I have no idea why but I stopped by Out back steak house and I said I am going to eat a salad, but nothing seemed appealing to me so I ordered food that I used to eat like buffalo wings for an appetizer they tasted so good I only ate 2 then I had shrimp alfredo (horrible!!) w/ a strawberry Margarita and a glass of water. I worked out so hard & good why didn't I just go home and eat baked fish w/ a salad or something of that sort. I only ate like 4 bites of my alfredo I was so so full. I can't eat like I used to. Today I woke up late and I was in a hurry and I forgot my food for the day so I had a hotdog little bit of mustard and a small bag of cheetoes this sounds so gross! and a soda!! I haven't had a soda in so long it was not satisfying at all. I'm not having a good day I'm just tired and I'm sure it's because I'm not eating enough today. My body just can't seem to take alot of food today. I am going to the gym after work. I guess I'm feeling a bit down because I'm not seeing a big difference in my body and I'm running out of ideas on what to eat thats healthy. My boyfriend started working out this week and I can see a huge difference in his body I didn't even know he was working out and I asked if he had lost weight which brings me down more. I'm going to stop complaining and get myself back on track and do more research on foods and stop drinking this nasty soda.....till next time

Did you stop at Outback all sweaty? Gross...lol. Dont beat yourself up. You didnt even that much of that stuff. Today you were running late, it happens. Just adapt and overcome.
Dont be discouraged by your bf's results, everyones body is different. YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks! No silly I take a shower before i leave the gym I usually work out pretty hard it would be gross to leave all sweaty. My body can handle alot when I'm working out. I'm just trying to lose some fat so I'm not using alot of weight (yet) just more reps. I really need to lose fat around my stomach everywhere else just really needs toning up so I can't slip like that again....but thanks for the input.

I was so close to giving up, why? I have no idea, perhaps it's because I feel as if I'm not getting anywhere, no one seems to think I'm losing weight or even notices any differences usually I never notice the difference unless people around me tell me theres one. I've been trying to put together a meal plan heres what I got for the next couple of days, I'm still new at this and researching, i can't seem to eat chicken any more at all I'm so tired of it, let me know if I should change something, add something etc. On Sundays I am going to make a meal plan for the week and go shopping

wed-
meal1- 1 1/2 cup oatmeal 1/2tsp cinnamon, water
snack1- 1c vegtable juice, 12 almonds
meal2- 5oz tuna, lemon juice, 1/4 parsley, 1slice whole grain bread, 1c raw veggies
snack2- 1c sliced fruit
meal3- 6oz salmon, 2c veggies
snack3- protein shake

thurs-
meal1- 2 poached eggs, 1 slice tomato, 1 apple, 1c berries
snack1- 1c fat free plain yogurt, 1c cherries
meal2- wheat banana sandwich w/peanut butter (reduced fat) & skim choc milk w/tasteless whey protein scoop
snack2- 1c pomegranate juice, walnuts
meal3- maple &almond crusted salmon, 2c veggie
snack- 1c veggie juice, 12 almonds

fri-
meal 1- 1 1/2 cups fat free yogurt, 1c assorted berries
snack1- 1c fat free cottage cheese, 1c berries
meal2- 5oz salmon, 3c mixed salad, 1/2 avacado, 1tsp vinegar, 1 tsp olive oil
snack2- 1c veggie juice 12almonds
meal3- 5oz tuna, lemon juice, 1/4 parsley, 1slice whole grain bread, 1c raw veggies
snack3- protein shake

This was just an example of what I'm working on. I work out m-f sometimes sat and not fri depends if I'm working.
m & tues- intense cardio (only have my lunch time to workout)
wed- yoga (45min) kickboxing (45min)
thurs- double step (45min) abs (15 min) upper body strength training (20min)
fri- full body strength training- 45min

usually I work sat and sun all day- I would love to have a day off during the week but I usually can't workout weekends and I will feel like I'm slacking off...I dont feel overlly tired at all when I work out like this sometimes really sore but not extremly sore.....well let me know what you think, keep in mind I'm still researching and trying to find foods I like and quick recipes

My god, you eat healthy! Which deserves a congrats, because it can be really tough. As for the ocassional slip.. don't sweat it(pardon the pun). This one time, after an 1 and 1/2 workout, I got home and there was literally nothing in the kitchen except these mini brownies,(190 calories per 2) and I emptied half the bag in like 5 minutes. Point is, we've ALL been there.

Realize its easy to see results at first, but after awhile it gets tough. This is where most people do give up. Dont go that route, realize that even if you arent losing weight and seeing noticeable results, you're still healthier and probably in overall great shape.

As far as the meal plan, I think you could use a little more protein. Your thursday plan is a bit slacking. Maybe you should try upping your calories by a couple hundred for a week or so, give your body a shock. I dont recommend anything less than 1500 for anyone.

Thanks! I always knew I should take in a little more protein, your right even though I don't see results on the outside inside I'm healthier. :D Thanks again!

Yeah nureyes, don't get discouraged. Ithink we have all reached that point, where we "see" nothing happening. But if you are training consistently and eating properly, then something IS happening, and it's good. Try to eat some protein each time you eat. Also, great idea planning out your meals for the week. I wish I was that organized. Keep your head up, your efforts will pay off.

well so far I'm still working out and still motivated, I have been going to the library and reading more on nutrtion, I ran the Susan G Komen Race for the cure this past sat I wasn't too happy about my time but it's ok at least I finished the 3 miles that made me happy. My boyfriend is still running. Not much has really been happening lately so I'll get back to ya later with some pics too.
