Hey Everyone!

I found this site while browsing around one night. After lurking around and reading posts for a little while, I was amazed at how supportive everyone is of everyone else. And that is definetly what I need!

I am the mother of 3 and a law student. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 5 years ago. I have gained a lot of weight over the years, and I am now up to 225. I am determined to lose weight this time. HELP!!

Welcome!!! We definately are supportive, and I'm glad that you decided to join us! I'm in graduate school right now too, and it is SUCH hard work, but I can't imagine doing it with kids in tow!!! What are your plans for diet/exercise/etc? let us know what we can do to help you out =)

Hi! Glad you found our site! You'll love it here! We are all really friendly and will support you in any way we can!

Well, I've tried the whole low calorie/low fat thing, visited with several nutritionists, etc, and it has just not worked for me. Even when combining that with walking and using exercise videos. I would never have any significant weight loss. Sometimes a couple of pounds, but then it would just come right back plus more. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try eating based on the glycemic index. I really hope it works. Most of the time, it just seems like I lose my motivation, which is why I was searching for a weight loss forum that I could visit often and be inspired. ;)

Thanks for the welcome! :)
