Sport Another newbie in need of advice

Sport Fitness
Hey all,

I am a 28 year old male who has been training again for 2 weeks now (cardio/weights/diet), after a break of over 2 years.
I am 78kg (80.4kg when I started), 180cm tall, and relatively toned in all parts of my body except my stomach.

My goal is to shift my pot belly whilst building up my cardio stamina.
Long term I would like to add a little muscle definition too but the pot belly is my immediate goal.

Until recently I would eat pizzas, ben and jerrs ice cream etc.
Recently I have changed that to;

0800hrs - bowl of cereal with semi skimmed milk, and a protein shake.

1400hrs (post workout) -fruit salad with greek yoghurt.

1800hrs - microwave weightwatchers meal and a piece of fruit.
If I am not at work at this time I have whatever the missus makes, with the fat soaked off with kitchen roll.

2100hrs - melon slices

I have also made a significant change in my water intake from vey little to 3 - 4 litres per day.

Will this nutrition suffice, or am I starving my body?
I am busy trawling the many many helpful posts on this site, and trying to make sense of it all.

Thanks in advance.

Paul

IMO opinion you`re not eating enough.

Six hours with no food is an awful long time, the general idea is to eat 5-8 small meals per day, with protein at every meal.

Take some time and read the nutrition stickies, they have lots of info

Good luck with your goal

How long have you been eating like this? I'm amazed you're still alive. Seriously - eat more, and cardio higher if you're afraid of putting on weight (but you won't). But eat more. What you are doing is what I used to do - and it really didn't end well.

I have been eating like this for around 12 days and aiming to burn at least 300 calories on the treadmill before I do my weight training.

I have just been to the shops nd bought potatoes, pasta, brown rice, lots of fruit and veg, plenty of turkey, beef and chicken.
Should I aim for around 1800 calories?
