Anna Nicole Smith Collapses at Hotel

HOLLYWOOD, Fla. Feb 8, 2007 (AP)— Anna Nicole Smith was unresponsive and was rushed to the hospital Thursday while staying at the Seminole Hard Rock Cafe Hotel and Casino, hotel officials said.

"She checked in Monday at 8 p.m. as a guest. She was due to check out tomorrow," said Danielle Giordaano, a spokeswoman for Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

Anna Nicole Smith Dies
February 8, 2007)— One-time Mexia chicken restaurant waitress turned Playboy model turned heiress turned reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith died Thursday afternoon after she was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Cafe and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., a law enforcement source told CNN.

The source told CNN Smith was dead on arrival at Memorial Regional Hospital.

The death comes a day after Smith and the diet company TrimSpa were targeted in a class-action lawsuit that alleges TrimSpa's marketing is false or misleading.

Among other things, the suit wants to stop Smith and TrimSpa from making claims that people who use the pills can lose a lot of weight.

Smith is a spokeswoman for TrimSpa.

Last month, the Federal Trade Commission announced TrimSpa would pay $1.5 million to settle allegations that the diet-products company's weight-loss claims were unsubstantiated.

The suit was the latest in a series of woes for the former Mexia waitress.

Her son Daniel, whose father still lives in Mexia, died last year in her hospital room in the Bahamas shortly after she gave birth to a daughter.

Since then she had faced challenges to her residency and questions about the baby girl’s paternity.

She was still locked in a legal fight over the estate of oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall, II, whom she married in 1994 when she was 26 and he was 89.

Marshall died the following year.

Smith ended up in a long-running battle with Marshall’s son Pierce over her late husband’s estate.

She won a $474 million judgment, which was later cut to about $89 million then to nothing.

The US Supreme Court ruled in May Smith could continue to pursue the inheritance in California courts.

I always felt bad for her, like her childhood never ended. She was never shown the way to adult-dom. A lost child in a big world.

This is a shock to hear.

I never really liked her all that much. But I had seen her a few times on television and stuff. Shocked, completely shocked.

Sad.

The Marilyn Monroe analogy continues.

What Marilyn Monroe analogy? MM actually had some talent in her, and was genuinely attractive... I've never found ANS to be at all attractive except under pounds of makeup so that you couldn't recognize her, and then never impressively so. I think the only thing the two have in common is their hair color and that they were both involved with rich men (though I would argue that MM's taste was much better, that she was never accused of stealing the entire fortune of any of her husbands from his children, and that her status came before the men, not from the men).

But I digress... I do feel very sorry for Anna's new baby, especially since it still hadn't been determined who the father was.

in the movie Rising Sun - an awful movie, a good book - she had a small part in it - she was quite attractive when she was younger - though not much talent acting wise.. (i will turn into a teenage boy for a moment and say she did have a great rack)

SOme of her playboy shots too - when she was younger - she was attractive - definitely had that bombshell look to her.. but

She's been compared to MM pretty much all her career. Ditsy acting blonde who got her start in playboy.

It really sickends me I was chcecking out E" gossip show and they
went ahead and showed the taped segment of her interview about
paternity and some other guy claiming to be the father? The other channle
broke in about her death but out of respect they should have shown
that at another time! I fell really bad for her little one hard telling whats
going to happen with that. My 2 cents Tammy

stealing the entire fortune of any of her husbands from his children

(I will preface this entire statement with the fact that I have done no research on the son's wealth status in life prior to getting the billon dollars his dad had)

I totally disagree with the majority of society's views on attained wealth and who gets it once death occurs.

I had a boss whose father had a bit of wealth and her mother was deceased a few years prior. Her father, even though in his 70's was not a man who wanted to be alone and found another woman to be in his life and marry. This boss went ballistic (all mad-woman crazy like) because she felt that "this woman" was going to take all of her father's wealth that he had accumulated and keep it for herself or give it to her less wealthy family, and this was money that belonged to she (the boss) and her siblings. .. Key words in the whole statement HER FATHER'S!

It was not her money to decide where it went. She didn't work all her life for what he had and to make matters even more complicated, she and her husband make over 1MM dollars/year!

I agree that in some situations courts should intervene when it's a case where the wealthy are incapable of making their own decisions about marriage and wealth distribution, but I don't believe they should have the right to cut a spouse completely out of the picture.

The $ was not the son's!! He didn't earn it! Just because it was his father's does not mean it becomes his if his father passes. If ANS had convinced this man to give his $ to charity, I think the son would have had the same problem...he's not sitting on his ass getting all this for Nothing.

Not to mention that they were together for quite some time before getting married. Smith new everyone would say she was digging in his pockets, so she stayed with him until she hit it big herself with Playboy, then they got married. I heard somewhere that they were together for a couple years before the marriage.

She was just a stripper or waitress who attracted Marshall's attention.

I agree with the past two posts. And I think Anna was really beautiful. She was a bit ditsy and sometimes annoying, but I think she's a sweetheart.

Also, I heard, and I don't know how true it is, that Anna fell in the bathtub, hit her head, and she was feeling okay. This is what someone that she knew said. And then later she collapsed.

The cause for her death is still a mystery, but... hm.. could it have just been a concussion?

I think that Anna was over rated and that she was realy weird, I agree with beagle when he said she was not attractive unless she had a ton of make up on.....Her last trim Spa pic where she was laying on bench with a tan skirt on.........she looked like a guy in drag...............it is sad that she left a little baby behind that has a terror of a future in store not even knowing who her daddy is..............very sad indeed!!!!

I do feel sorry for the baby growing up not ever having that mom daughter
bond and all the mommy daughter things you dod together!
I think she always looked beautiful even without makeup. The shot of her
on the cover of the magazines holding her baby girl with her son Daniel
she had that natural beauty as well.
I guess I look at it differently because I can't imagine the pain of losing
a son then having to be reminded everyday about it and at the same time
trying to enjoy the birth of your new daughter. It's only going to get messier for that poor lil girl.
