Ankle Weights on your arms?

Hi could I be enlightened on the pros and cons of using ankle weights on the forearms while running?
Any other uses of weights while running?
 
adding weight to yourself for long distance running (as opposed to sprints) is inviting injury unless you are a seasoned runner. What is the purpose? Are you trying to workout your arms while running? You may end out damaging your rotator cuff or give yourself lower back pain.

May want to re-evaluate the reasoning and think not.
