Anjuli's fitness journal

Hi.

Here I will be documenting my diet and exercise ups and downs.

A little bit about me:

I'm a 26 y.o. female in about 'average' shape, and I'm at what is considered a healthy weight for my age/height/body type. But, I've seen my body in much better physical shape than I am now. I want to see my body in peak physical condition. I want to do this to re-establish good life-long habits, and to get and stay healthy.

Sun 11.5.06

B: coffee (that's it - we were running a bit late for church)
L: Mezzaluna pasta @ Carrabba's, caesar salad, bread, diet coke
D: chicken, rice, veggies

workout: 35 min cardio on elliptical

mood: discouraged. it's been almost 6 weeks since i've really been at it in the gym. The gym was quiet today, but there were a couple of girls there who are where I *was* physically, in muscle definition and strength. I need to start hitting the weights again.

Good luck!! I like your goals. I have similar ones as well.

I'll be keeping up with you if thats okay... im planning on starting a log here too.

Good luck and welcome to the forum. Instead of the three meal format, try spreading your calories out to 5 or 6 meals a day - that way the body gets regular nutrients over the course of the day.

Thanks for the warm welcome -

When you're busy, it can be hard. But that's no excuse. Thanks for the advice. I try to keep it to 3 meals + 2-3 snacks per day of fruit, yogurt, or nuts, but that's when I'm really 'behaving'. I'm sure I'll stray from that at least a bit in the beginning.

You can use fitday.com to track your calorie intake and to get an idea of what changes you need to make to your food plan. 3 meals + 3 snacks = 6 times a day - my food plan runs in a similar vein.

It's definitely hard when life is so busy!! I hear you on that!!
I don't think your day was bad at all, espec' since it was a weekend too and I always have trouble sticking to a diet on the weekend!

mon 11.6.06

s: yogurt
b: 2 eggs / 2 slices of wheat toast
s: 1 c fresh pineapple
L: apple + turkey and swiss sandwich w/ fat free ranch on wheat
d: spagetti + meat sauce & 1 slice garlic toast
s: 1 c fresh pineapple

exercise: 45 on elliptical at a pretty good pace
weights: worked back today, 3 seperate exercises, 3 sets @ 12 reps.
I'm fried, so I'm not going to type out the exercises

mood: cheery but tired. my house is LOUD today/tonight and it's wearing on me. I worked hard at the gym and made the mistake of waiting almost 2 hours after my workout to eat. it's only 8pm (cst) and I'm ready for BED!

11.7.06

b: french toast sticks
s: apple
l: X (no time)
s: yogurt
s: powerbar
d: turkey sandwich and yogurt

workout: X I didn't have time. Too much going on. Lots of personal stuff to deal with that got in the way.

First off, WELCOME! :D I read through all your post, and I'm not quite sure what your goals are exactly- but if you're trying to tone up and loose some fat I would suggest maybe laying off the carbs after about 3 ish. I know for myself, I see great results when I keep my carbs earlier in the day!!

This weekend was difficult, we were out and about, and I've had some family illnesses pop up unexpectedly and have added to my stress.

Overview:

I ate well all weekend, got to the gym on Saturday for about 40 min.

mood:

Stressed, exhausted, etc etc etc. I did NOT get to the gym today, and I feel it. My mood is affected, my energy level is non-existant. I'm about to get to bed to try to make up for my lack of energy. Back in the saddle tomorrow.

Well, I weighed in today and I'm -2 pounds for last week. I'm pretty proud of that. It's more incentive to keep going! I'll post today's details later!

Its late, I'm tired so this will be a short post.

b: 2 slice peanutbutter toast w/ 1tbs natural pb
1 c coffee w/ creamer and 1 tsp sugar
l: lean cuisine french bread pizza - 290 cal
s: 1 small slice cheddar cheese
s: whey protein shake
d: salad w/ no dressing and 1 small slice meat loaf

workout:
20 min cardio(I was exhausted today...not sure I'm getting enough sleep)
Legs workout (I'm not going to type out exercises...I'll get to that soon though.)

mood: good, tired. work was long today, stress of upcoming holidays and my grandmother is very ill - they're giving her a few months and that's probably it. She has advanced colon cancer. She is 91 so yes, she's very old, but I've always been very close to her. She's a wonderful lady.

I'm -2 pounds, my total weight loss goal is 15-20 lbs...closer to 15. We'll see. I tend to gain a lot of muscle mass...so when I'm working out and training alot, I look lighter than I am. That's why I'm not comfortable posting my weight yet. I am still - as of right now- w/ in a healthy bmi, but just not where I would LIKE TO BE as far as my physique goes.

A short post turned into a long post. That's all for now though.

Sorry to hear about your grandmother - post updates as you're able.
