I'm starting this journal so I can see my actions written down...and so can everyone else. I need something so I can be publically accountable and motivated. Today was an attempt at getting re-focused on the healthier me, not necessarily the weight obsessed me; but, alas, my efforts were only about 75 percent. I was shooting for 1400 calories, but ended up eating 1900. I did go on a long walk today for about 45 minutes.

Usually I run, but I'm still a tad sick from a bad cold that just won't go away. I drank my goal of 64 ounces of water, but I also unfortunately drank a soda today. My headache was just getting so bad. I feel like a smoker, I'm having to ween myself off of soda! Tomorrow will be a better day, I know it. I'll let y'all know what I ate and did physically tomorrow.
 
Looks like you've got a good attitude about things! Good luck today, you can do it!
 
Sounds like caffeine withdrawl. Honey, I know how bad it can be. My normal caffeine intake used to be about 4 pots of coffee a day. When I cut myself back to only 2 cups I thought I was gonna die. Some of the worst headaches I've ever had and I have been a migraine sufferer for years. Don't be tricked into using Excedrin for the headaches. They work faster than Motrin but that's because they have caffeine in them! Have faith, within a week or so, the headaches will stop. Sometimes you can trick your brain with a caffeine free soda. If you drink coffee, remember that even decaf has a small amount of caffeine in it. Now, I find that I get headaches if I drink too much coffee! My family was so freaked out! Stay strong. You will get through it!
 
So it's been a cold, wet day here...which I actually enjoy! I like when it's like this and I can see my breath in the air outside and feel coolness on my cheeks. But more than anything I like being INSIDE hearing the rain, cuddled up on the couch with my husband eating hot soup and watching tv.

In fact, that previous paragraph made soup sound like an AWESOME idea...maybe tomato since it's low in calories and I can still add a lot of flavor to it with spices.

Jeremy wanted to go to Burger King for lunch today, so we did, but I tried to be good. I've had bad experiences a couple of times with their salads so I had smaller portions instead. Today thus far I have eaten:

breakfast: 1 slice toast (60 cal)
1/2 tbsp peanut butter (45 cal)
1 tbsp grape jelly (50 cal)

lunch: [i was bad:( , but at least it was a kids meal!]
6 piece chicken tender (250 cal)
2 packs sweet & sour sauce (80 cals total)
small french fry (230 cal)
small coke NO refills YAY! (140 cals)

snack: 1 trail mix snack pack from wal-mart (280 cals)

dinner: haven't decided yet.

That makes the total calorie count without dinner: 1135. I'm trying to stay under 1400 or 1500 calories so maybe just some soup and salad for dinner. I'll post dinner later.
 
soup and salad it was for dinner. that was about another 450 calories, so I'm maxed out for the day at 1585. I walked for 30 minutes today and did 300 sit-ups and 4 sets of 20 push-ups, and stretched for 15 minutes. Not nearly enough, but better than doing nothing, especially considering how BUSY I was today. Tomorrow I WILL get up early and go to the gym.
 
great gym day!

I just got back from the gym and had an AWESOME workout. I did the stair master for 20 minutes following a workout an old personal trainer gave me a couple of years ago, and burned 300 calories (adjusted for me being quite a bit heavier than then). Then I did 20 minutes of an interval/hill workout on the treadmill...200 calories followed by 15 minutes of an eliptical workout 150 calories.

Food today has been better so far. I've cut the one soda down to 1/2 of a soda. I think I'll drink 1/2 a soda for 2 more days before I can cut it out all together. I just don't want a horrible headache again like the other day.

Breakfast: oatmeal 170 calories
snack: trail mix snack pack 280 calories
lunch: 1/2 coke 70 calories
frozen meal 280 calories
snack: turkey on wheat with spicy mustard 200 calories.
1 tbsp chocolate chips (needed it) 70 calories

calories in so far: 1070
calories burned: 650
 
Hey y'all. I have a short business trip for a couple of days. I'm leaving Wed. morning and will be back Friday evening. Don't worry, I packed some food for tomorrow's drive (no fast food for me) and I'm planning to exercise while I'm gone. Talk to everyone on Friday!

babe, you are doing AWESOME!!! looks like you are working hard and making great food choices... Caffeine withdrawl sucks... but once you get there, you will feel so much better =)

I'm back everyone! thanks for all who checked in on me. Unfortunately my good intentions were dashed, like I told my challenge team. Food was provided on my trip and all we had pretty much were trays of either fried items or mayonnaise based salads. I tried to eat small portions, but you know what fatty foods do. AND, to top it all off Wednesday night and Thursday night were long work nights (i.e. midnight+) so I drank two sodas both nights to stay awake so we could complete our project:( . I weighed in when I got home and I'm up 2 puonds!:mad: Hopefully this challenge will help me I'm looking to go from 163 to 155. Good luck to everyone else participating....!
 
Wow 300 sit ups I am with April I couldnt do 30 let alone 300, And it is hard to break that coke habit mines Dr Pepper but I have switched to diet Dr pepper caffiene free and have been drinking it for a few years now I had kidney problems a while back so I switched caffiene is not good for kidney s at all I hope to get completley weened from cokes all the way . And we all have slip ups that slife If we didnt life wouldnt be interesting . All I can say keep up the good work !
 
Don't worry hon, you'll be fine. I know it's hard when your not home. I wouldn't worry about those 2 pounds. They'll drop right back off. Lets kick some butt over the weekend.
 
Today was such a busy day. I almost wish that we didn't have to have our religious wedding ceremony and reception. The courthouse ceremony back in March was fine, but I guess being married "under God" actually is important to us. All the wedding stuff will be over on the 18th then we can focus on the move to Pearl Harbor.

Because I was so busy I didn't really eat all that much today. I didn't have breakfast because I needed to sleep in after our business retreat up in the mountains of Georgia. Soooo, food for today is:

Turkey on wheat bread with 3/4 tbsp mayonnaise: 250 cal
1/2 can coke: 70 cal
reduced fat hot cocoa with light whipped cream: 120 cal

red lobster dinner (love how they're putting calories on menu now):
2 cokes:( : 240 cal
1/2 biscuit: 80 cal
shrimp cocktail w/ sauce: 220 cals
mixed veggies: 143 cals
garden salad w/ ranch on side (used 1/3 of it only): 100 cals
fried clams from appetizer: 200 calories

1 foster's beer: 90 cals
TOTAL: 1393 calories
Oh, and I only drank about 45 oz of water today, I'll do better tomorrow!!!
 
Ang~ ... Red Lobster... I've never been to red lobster..I wish there was one around here! I wouldn't worry too much about it! You still stayed below 1500! I hope your having a good weekend!
 
It's cold and rainy here, and my mood matches it. I'm upset because tomorrow is my final dress fitting and I know that they're going to have to let the dress out on the sides. I already bought it a size small over the summer, but I thought that I'd lose the weight to fit in it. My seamstress has been avoiding letting it out because I have lost some weight. I honestly think if I had lost 5 or 10 more pounds I'd be good, because it zips 3/4 of the way up now, but I needed to lose like another inch around my back. Oh well. Hopefully by the wedding this challenge will help and it will maybe even be a tad loose.

Food so far for today:
2 slices leftover cold pizza thin crust (450 calories)
3 bottles of water

I'll probably just have plain tuna and some fruit for lunch today. We'll see.
 
Hey sweetie dont get down yet, you may be pleasently surprised at your final dress fitting. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and Im sure you will look truly amazing in your dress Hun. Hope you have a good day sweetie!!!!!
 
I got a TON of stuff done for the wedding today. Good thing, too, considering I only have about 12.5 days left now! AND I even had time to workout for an hour!

Julie, thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm crossing my fingers, too, I really don't want to have my dress let out.

lunch:3/4 tuna pack on wheat w/1 tsp mayo and 1 tbsp relish [only ate 3/4] (200 cals)
green tea w/splenda

snack: 1 slice thin crust pizza (225 cals)
2 bottles of water

dinner: 1 serving kielbasa (190 cals)
3/4 cup sugar snap peas (60 cals)
9 tater tots (150 cals)
1/2 coke (70 cals)

total in: 1260
total burned: 450
