Hello everyone, I am a brand new user in this forum, and I'm very excited to be a part of the community! I am hoping to get some advice on purchasing an elliptical trainer. Basically, I have been running in the morning through the warm months, and I'm trying to find a good alternative now that it is dark and cold.
These are my basic concerns:
1) Stability - I live in an apartment building. My downstairs neighbors are nice, but I don't want to seriously disturb them, especially in the morning.
2) Resistance - I found a reasonable model in Sears, but I couldn't turn up the resistance to the point where I felt like I would actually get a workout.
3) Price - Sadly, I can't put up more than $500 up for this, and that's a stretch. (I fear there are some purists out there that will be irritated for this, so I apologise in advance.)
Less important issues:
(1) I will probably be moving in the next year or two, so it is relatively temporary.
(2) Space is not a huge problem.
I have read a bunch of other threads about eliptical recommendations, but it seems nobody with exactly the same concerns -- does anyone have any thoughts? I would especially appreciate specific model suggestions. Also, the model I mentioned earlier was the Proform XP -- if anyone has experience with this model, please let me know. Thank you!
