Amount of time before eating after workout?

Quick question. How much time should I leave before I eat after a workout?

Currently, I eat about 45 minutes after a workout.
 
after strength training, you should consume your post workout meal immediately.

2 reasons
1. your body is primed for nutrient absorption, to replenish muscle glycogen (simple carbs) and to start repairing muscle tissue (protein). the body also assimilates creatine better after strength training
2. If you followed diet rules, you ate 60-90 minutes pre-workout..and assuming your workout is 45-60 minutes...that puts you on schedule for your next meal.


Now, if you're talking about eating after cardio, some articles say to hold out about 60 mins post cardio, as it causes the body to burn more fat calories. I have no sources to back it up, so I can't strongly urge you follow the advice, but it shouldn't be a big deal either way.
