amino acids

i've read that creatine can harm the liver if not taken properly, ie. not drinking enough water. i am thinking about buying some amino acid pills and was wondering if there is a proper way to take them, or can i just eat and drink as i am now and take the pills throughout the day and after a workout?
 
many are of the opinion that a good protein intake from solid protein foods is all thats needed and amino acid pills wouldnt do much of anything.

you can get creatine the old fashion way through food

Foods such as herring, salmon, tuna, beef and pork all contain in excess of four grams of creatine per kilogram.
