yes, proteins are comprised of amino acids. when you hear the term 'complete protein' it means that protein source contains all of the essential amino acids our body needs. Most incomplete proteins are vegetable proteins, like beans, so you'd have to pair it with another incomplete protein to end up covering all the aminos you need.
you don't take aminos instead of protein...you take them in addition to the rest of your meals. Supplement...not replacement.
Even then, i don't feel amino supps are necessary unless you've been training a long time and can actually benefit from a crap load of extra aminos.
but in those situations you usually have a good protein shake and take in so much food that extra supps still aren't needed.
