am i running right

I'm on the track team and when i sprint/run i run with my back straight, head up, and shoulders back.

I think this is the right form for running but i noticed that when i run like that my body starts to lean back becuase the wind's blowing against me.

How should I run? Should i arch my back forwards and run instead of haivng it straight?

I'm doing a 200 m run and 5 km run on the triathlon so any kidna tip would be appreciated.

I am not posting this reply to be a smart butt .. but don't you have a track coach you can direct these questions too ?? I would think he/she should have good advice. I am no expert on running, but I know when I sprint, my upper body is leaning forward slightly, not straight up.

im no expert, but i have heard that you should put your force forward when sprinting.. imagine if you were pushing a car, you would want alot of force forward.. same as when sprinting. but you would want to get more opiniones on this.. i have seen people sprint the way you are doing too.

I think you're looking at two different things here...sprinting and long-distance. Though 5K is considered a sprinting distance run, I'd assume you'd have a little straighter back and focus on long strides (max back and forward swinging motion, heel to toe). For shorter sprints, I'd assume you'd lean farther forward (keeping your back flat and in check), run more on your toes and focus on leg speed.

But yes, you should consult your coach--even if you don't like him/her--since they will know more about this than most of us! :)

Why is he/she the coach ?? Coaches are there for that reason ... to coach. That's what they are paid for. He/she should be giving you pointers on your running or at least be approachable to answer any of your questions !!!!!

he's not paid.

It's just some teacher at my school organizing the track team.
