Am I on the right track?

Hey All,

I'm trying to lose weight and need a little guidance. I'm 27 years old, 6'1" and currently weigh 225. My weight has fluctuated a lot over the years due to having Crohn's disease, but the weight I've liked myself the most at is 160 (I have very little muscle mass).

So I'm trying to lose 65 pounds. I've started by cutting down to 1500 calories a day, and walking 9-10 miles a day. The weight loss app I'm using says my net calories after the walking is 1000-1100 a day.

How much success am I going to have with this plan, and roughly how many pounds a week would you estimate I'll lose? Any other guidance you'd give?

Thanks everyone!

Hello Bowdigre,

I am curious to know if you are male or female as we have very similar weight and goals, however, I am about 5'9.

Personally, I think your plan sounds like you will be on track to lose weight fairly quickly. I think that your net calories sounds really high if you're walking that many miles a day. I think you would burn a lot more than 400-500 cals walking that much a day.

What are the 1500 calories you're eating? Is it made up of healthy choices like protein, vegetables? Are you drinking water? All of this will make a difference.
