Any changes you would make to this?? Another thing is I dont know how to distribute the calories throughout the day.. Is it a good idea to eat more at breakfast? Lunch?

I am aiming to eat 1500 calories a day on average... more on some days less on others

Thanks for any repliesss xx

Hello,

If you can cut out coffee all together. Its a diaretic which makes you dehydrated and more hungry which will make you eat more. I know its hard to cut out coffee but I would suggest the following plan.

Reduce your coffee intake little by little. reduce it to 1-2 cups a day, then to 1 cup a day. Then replace those coffees to tea so you can still get caffine. Once your ready stop drinking tea as well. Replace these liquids with water. Water is the most important drink for your body, nothing is more important.

As far as the cereal, how much sugar is in the cereal? Sugar and added sweeters will not fill you up and it will also make you hungry. Is the cereal organic?

The fruit is good, but is it organic? Try replacing these fruits with organic veggies. Veggies fill you up longer and have less sugar.

The cereal bars are okay try and switch them to organic bars.

And I cannot stress enough how important water is. Drink drink drink

I hope this helps!

I refuse to give up coffee lol I know it's not ideal to drink but I see it as my little treat each day

I do drink 2l water a day though so hopefully this cancels out?

Thanks for the tips I will try and swap some of the fruits for vegetables

I don't think the cereal is organic- do you know of some kind of all bran or bran flakes equivalent? Available in the UK? I try to eat a lot of fibre I have been constipated since being on this diet? TMI maybe sorry :p but I don't see why I'm eating my 5 a day plus water plus the fibre in my all bran.

Do the calories seem ok for each day? Have I grossly underestimated the calories for any of the foods?

Thanksss x

I know its your treat for the day but please try to kick the coffee habit... Its one of the reasons your constipated. Since coffee is a diuretic your body will salvage water anywhere it can; one of those areas is your gastrointestinal tract.

Since your gastrointestinal tract has less water you will continuously be constipated. So try to stick with organic green/white tea. The tea leafs will help your constipation.

As far as the cereal I am not to sure since I live in Canada lol. But go to your local health food store and talk to them. I am sure there is an equivalent bran cereal you can buy (and make sure you get organic).

I never usually count calories myself because there are so many more factors in our foods. How many sugars are in them? what types of sugars? is it aspertame? If so aspertame actually makes you more hungry.

What types of fats are in the food? Is it transfats? polyunsaturated? monounsaturated? How much cholesterol is there?

But overall the calorie count seems decent. Just keep drinking that water.

The whole coffee as a diuretic is more of a myth. It is a diuretic, but the water in the coffee makes up for the diuretic effect, so drinking coffee won't dehydrate you. That doesn't mean drink 3 pots a day, but it's not that evil.

Are you checking the calories because you're not seeing results, or just because you're concerned? For me, the best thing I did on that front was to get a food scale so I'd really know exactly what I was getting. Then I'd know if my chicken breast was really 'medium' or not so I wouldn't be quite as concerned.

Is your cereal bar one of the fiber ones? Not sure on the digestive issues... one thing I do is try to avoid more processed foods. So I don't eat as much cereal or bars, but have more veggies or even slog back some psyllium husk powder in water for the extra fiber. Beans are a great source of fiber, so is acorn squash... Hopefully that helps at least some :)
