Sport Am I eating enough?

I really think I need to eat more... I am loosing weight... I am hungry everyday for a bit usually creaping up towards dinner... but I am eating until I am full at breakfast, lunch, and dinner... and am only hitting 1700-1900 calories...

according to fitday.com my BMR is 1913... lifestyle... 861 and I have been excercising to the tune of 250-400 perday... so I am basically 2700-3100 per day... so I guess I am at 1000-1300 cal deficit... do I need to eat more... I know 1400 is too low... but 1800 on days I don't excercise seams about right... and on days I excersize getting to 2000 is tough... I have to remember to have a snack at 3:00... what do you think?
 
BTW never had this problem of feeling like I can't eat more... eating healthy sure makes this process easier... I'm sure the excersize helps too... and cutting out the soda... nictoteen... almost all caffein...
 
Yes, if you really are eating only 1700-1900 you should be eating more. you should take your maintenence and reduce it by about 20%. even on your low end of 2700, thats about 500 calories. so you should be hitting the 2200 mark.

just be sure there arent some hidden calories lurking in your diet. a couple times i thought i was eating too few, and was really eating my maintenence. I was measureing my serving sizes too big. I cut back and things fell into place.

While most of the time, its fairly easy to wing your daily calories, it's also good practice to once in a while, measure EXACTLY how many you take in. just to make sure you werent over or under shooting your goal. Also, the leaner you get, the fewer calories you require, so its good to recalculate your maintenence every once in a while as well.

I'm pretty sure I am hitting the measurement correctly... I have been measuring my breakfasts... So I know they are right on... lunch... I figure I am on there as well because my big cal stuff (tuna) is premeasured... and the other stuff is low cal and if I am off by a bit it is only by 10-30 cals... nothing significant...

dinner I have been paying close attention to portions and probably overestimate on the veggy side...

I am going to try to add a snack today to get me to 2000... and really try to eat a bit more at dinner to try to get to 2200 today...

Sunday is a party and I figure I will hit 2700 that day... not many good food choices there...
