Whats up everybody, Im a 23yr old guy... Im 5'7 and 188.4 lbs..

Since Feb 6th Ive been using the Lose it app to help me watch my eating habits, Since using that Ive lost 16.6 lbs (Started out at 205 lbs).. So its been working pretty good but I have a few questions about calorie intake..

So when I started the lose it app it put me on a 1736 calorie budget and when you begin to lose weight and log it it will lower your calories to adjust for continual weight loss.. It ended up putting me at a 1636 calorie budget which I found was to low (I was always hungry + the fact that I work out an hour 5-6 days a week)..

So I read from various websites that the minimum calories required for an active guy are between 1800-2000ish.. So I bumped my lose it calorie budget up to 1823 a day

Now my question is should I be adding more calories and heres what I do for work out

Im on the Couch to 5k program so I end up doing that every other day

Also I do this work out right here to four days a week with a break in the middle and cardio on the non weight days

So should I be eating more then 1823, I just dont wanna mess up and end up gaining back weight thanks

I'd be rather curious to see answers to this myself.

I use MyFitnessPal and it's teling me I should be eating 1100 calories a day but when i add in my exercise, which is 700 calories, I should be eating 1800 a day for weight loss. I've been struggling. I'm an all or nothing kind of gal.

Good luck with your challenge. Seeing people like you who have stared off really well give me hope :)

You might have to do some research on your respective apps to see how your daily calorie allowances are being made. I wouldn't trust an app like that unless I knew every factor it was taking into account.

Just a suggestion. An app is no substitute for knowledge (of a qualified trainer or due to your own careful research). I'm a bit of a Luddite, though.
