Am I doing enough?

Bikini Bound

New member
My goal is to do 45 minutes of cardio and weights at least 5 days a week. I accomplished that goal last week.

This week I have slacked off. I have gone everyday, except Tuesday, but I've been so anxious to get home I do about 30 minutes on the eliptical and do a nice brisk walk for an hour in the evening.

I'm trying to get back up to my original goal which I have started today. Is this a good routine? Am I doing enough. I currently weigh about 178 and want to get to the 130's/140's by the beginning of the summer. My diet has been pretty strict (about 1500-1700 calories a day).

Any suggestions on how I can maximize my weight loss?

Im so confused with two bikini bounds!

I'm new so it probably only distracts me! sorry and WELCOME!!!

(no exercise advice here, exercise and me haven't been friends!!):blush5:

Welcome,

Jill i think the other one is with no space, hopefully that will help us determine who is who.

Bikini if you could tell us more about yourself, like your height and what you are eating.

What I eat pretty much varies. I don't eat hardly any fat and very little protein. In the morning I eat cereal. For lunch today I had pasta salad with light dressing and vegetables. Tonight I'm not sure what I will eat. I basically eat whatever is nutritious, low in fat and calories but will keep me full.

Doesnt sound very nutritious...

Why no protein?

Fat isn't evil - saturated fat is bad - but other fats like those in olive oil and such are good for your body...

Have you read the stickied threads in the nutrition forum?

You need more protien, why aren't you eating it? You can get protien from beans if you are worried about the fat in meat.

You say it varies from day to day? Do you keep track of what you eat, either in a notebook or on line at a place like fitday.com?

You'd be surprised how the online places can help you see that you are or are not eating properly.

What kind of pasta is it? Whole Wheat? If it is white pasta - that would be the thing I'd toss.

And as mal already said, you do need some fat for your body to function properly. Fats from olive oil, flaxseeds, nuts are good for you. Of course you can't overdo them, but don't avoid them.

As far as your excersise are you doing one day cardio one day weights? Or are you doing cardio followed by weights. I'm just not clear on that.
