Sport Always hungry

Sport Fitness
OK well, since January of this year, I've lost a lot of weight (like 80 lbs), but now I find that I'm tired during my workouts and can't go nearly as hard as I used to on some days. I've also found that I get really hungry in the middle of the night, and usually crave carbs. I've actually gotten up and cooked pasta once or twice. I was losing 12-15lbs a month, but now it's more like 5-6, which I'm assuming is because of these really bad cravings. My diet was given to me by my PT, but as I'm no longer with him, I can't ask him this, and it is a healthy diet where i'm getting everything I need. Also, for the record, I am female and Type I Diabetic. Also, I still have about 50 more pounds until I get to my final goal.

You're starving yourself and it isn't going to get better until you get yourself on a proper diet and exercise routine. I suggest you talk with your doctor to make sure you aren't over doing it and see if he can't refer you to a nutritionist who can take a look at this diet and make sure it is a proper diet and sufficient with your exercise routine.....

You shouldn't beat yourself up to get in shape, it should be something that will be a lifestyle change you can permanently have in your life.

hmm I don't think I'm starving myself lol. I eat roughly 2200 calories a day (I'm 230 lbs and 6 feet tall). I will be going to see my doctor though, because I even took a week off at the gym and I still wasn't as energetic as I should have been when I went back.

Thanks for the response :)

Sorry, I guess I should be more clear.....

I was suggesting if your goal is to lose weight, and you want to take it off safely, you don't want to starve yourself because it is going to cause you more problems than help. The fact that you are a diabetic, just adds to the mix.

Something that is going on whether it is not eating enough, or working out too much, there is an imbalance in what you are doing, and when you correct it, you shouldn't feel so tired, and hungry.

I tend to be short in my responses sometimes, so sorry if I offended, it isn't to be mean, it's just lack of time :)

Try to eat foods that will keep ou from getting cravings.

For example nuts, seeds, cottage cheese, whole grains etc.

Good luck with everything.

No worries gotfit :).

Thanks to the both of you for the advice.
