Sport ALWAYS bad to drink calories?

I understand some of the reasoning behind not drinking your calories--you might not compensate by eating fewer calories, many drinks are "empty" calories, etc. But what about 100% whole, natural drinks like orange juice, grapefruit juice, and vegetable juice. If you find it hard to eat the proper amount of fruits and vegetables each day, wouldn't it be better to drink one or two of these drinks? (And I know you have to read the labels very carefully and avoid added sugars, high fructose corn syrup, etc.)

Orange juice, grape fruit juice and the "100 percent natural " drinks you buy at the store usually are loaded with artifical sugars and hfcs

Actually, it is not difficult to tell a true 100% orange juice from an orange drink that is mostly sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Just read the ingredients list.

But fruit juices are generally not as good as whole fruits, since whole fruits contain fiber and contribute to satiety better. Even 100% juices are a concentrated source of calories from the fruits' sugars; unless you are in a situation where you want to take in a lot of sugar quickly, whole fruit is usually a better choice.

Vegetable juices (tomato juice or mixed vegetable juice like the original type V8 juice) have much less concentrated sugars, but are often high in salt unless you get the low salt versions.

If you have a good home juicer, its better than store bought juice.

but most juicers remove all the fiber...robbing you of a handy macro.
 
100% orange juice with lots of pulp is probably your best bet. I like my orange juice so thick with pulp, that I don't have to worry about not getting enough fiber when I drink it.

Like the others said. It's not hard to find 100% juice. Just look at the ingredients, and get the stuff with added pulp.
