This is going to be a long post haha, but please comment with your thoughts! Growing up, I stayed active and fit by going to dance class. I started when I was three, and made it into my studio's company at age 12, which meant my hours in class went from around 10 a week to close to 40, so there was no problem with me not getting exercise. Recently, I've cut way back on my hours training at my studio due to trying to earn my degree, so I've taken up going to the gym over the last two years as a way to keep that active level high. Almost four years ago, I started doing aerial dance as well, or the kind of things circus people do like silk work, trapeze, etc. This has been an incredibly fun way to really strengthen my arms and my core. Dance has always been one of the main forms of cardio I enjoy and it tones as well, so it's a win-win for me. But it's also something I can't do the rest of my life.
Now, while I enjoy the physical benefits I get out of going to the gym, I also think it's pretty boring just using machines all the time. I was wondering what alternatives to just going to the gym for cardio or strength training you guys participate in that I should look into so my workouts can be more exciting once in a while. Any alternatives or info would be great!
