Sport Alcohol question...

I've recently starting tracking my calorie intake more closely, and I have been astonished at how a night out (or a tailgate :)) can really pack the calories on.

Now i realize self-control is a huge factor, but does anyone have suggestions on how to limit calories from drinking?

i.e. I've tried drinking a glass of water with every beer, because it slows down how much beer you actually drink... but i just ended up drinking as many beers as any other night, but taking more trips to the restroom!
 
Beer is a killer! but its nice.

Just dont do it too often. I make sure I only get really hammered once a month or less. I stop myself from drinking by taking my car when i go out.
 
There are those Ultra Super low carb beers, but if you are a beer snob like myself, those nasty "beers" are not an option. I want my beer to taste like beer.

What I do is just set my limit before the night starts. say "I'm only having 3 beers" and stick to it. Drink water the rest of the night. And like R Lewis says, taking your car is a big deterrant cause you know you gotta drive home later
 
Gotta have my guiness EVERY weekend....unless I really need to drop bodyfat. Then again, I'd rather add more to the caloric expenditure than get rid of my guiness.
