Sport alchohol

I have a couple questions on alchohol:
1) what exactly does alchohol do to your body that it nulls out your workout?
2) If i want to drink, is it better before or after the workout (Not immedieatly before/after)?
3) Does anyone know any good websites that speak about this topic?
 
Only thing i can tell you that I know for a fact, is that alcohol slows down your metabolism causing you to gain weight in fat. It's best to limit drinks to a minimum. A beer every now and then never hurt anybody though ;)
 
I know alcohol kills an anabolic state, which makes recovery and lean muscle increase harder to achieve. I think it also affects insulin levels.

I would try to not drink before or after workouts...do it on cardio days when you haven't just destroyed muscle fibers.
