Yaay. Great music is playing and I'm in a good mood. Perfect time to start my weight loss diary.
I won't talk about what I did earlier this day because my weight loss program started the moment I registered here...nothing else matters now :D

I'm 17 years old and I'm going to turn 18 in October...it would be nice to be in good shape by then which means I have no time to loose.

Currently I weigh about 65 kg which is about 144 pounds and I'm 166 cm tall which is about 5'5. From now on I'll stick to the metric system :p

Right now I have nothing to eat at home :D so no worries :D I need to figure out what kind of diet I want to start. The proteine diet is a lot faster and easier on the brain cells :p (for me at least) etc but I can't finish a day with it...makes me sick :D I'm sure I'm doing something wrong because I used to be able to do it. I'll have to try it again.

I also have a free pass to a sports club but I'm soo lazy and it's so far that I've decided to start jogging instead. I'll do that the day my toe is fine...I hurt my toe yesterday so I can only wear loose shoes...no sports shoes for at least a week :S

What else...My biggest problem area is my legs. I need to get some muscle tone to my legs...Hate my legs. My belly is pretty nice :) That's cool, but an overall weight loss won't hurt anyway :p

So I'm hoping on weighing 58 kg with muscle by October 15th. Body Pump does magic :p Yep. 7 kg in 3 months isn't a lot I just need to pull myself together :)

the mediterrean style diet is getting a lot of good press these days and doctors seem to like it a lot better than the high protein style diets... because it's very heart healthy... If you haven't made up your mind, it might be one you want to consider... :)

oh and welcome to your diary.. glad to have you here

I read a bit about the Mediterranean Diet and I'll give it a try...I've been having problems with my blood pressure, so we'll see if it really works...meaning both the weight loss and the heart friendly parts :)

Hello, and welcome! We're about the same age and had really close starting weights. (Mine being 145 lbs.) I just wanted to wish you good luck on your losses, and to let you know I'll be checking in on you to see how you're coming along. You'll love it here, it's a wonderful place!

Hey :) Yaay, that's great to find someone my age here. You've gone quite far, haven't you :) Congradulations :)
Actually, a year ago I was a lot thinner. I was about 120 pounds :S That's also why I really want to go back to that weight. But my diet was way too strict and I had a huge break down last August. So this time, I'll be healthy :) Plus I've been there and seen all the ugly sides of being thin...The diet can really mess with your head if you lose control over it...So I'll try to be smarter this time..

Anyways. I stuck with the diet today and I feel great :) Can't wait to go on tomorrow...I really want these pounds to be gone :)

Yaay. I've lost 0.5 kg :) I really need some chocolate! So I'm in a bit of a dilemma here. My dad brought my favourite chocolate...maybe I'll just have a bit

Hi Ajalind :)
Welcome to the forum! This is a great place for motivation, wisdom and even laughs! I don't know how I would have stayed inspired without the great people from this site!

For me, you hit the nail on the head about why I can't "do diets" of any kind - it messes with your head and often times, the weight comes back once you go off. Not to mention, if I want chocolate, I'm going to EAT some chocolate.

For me, as much as I didn't want to count calories, it has been so easy, effective and liberating to do so! It has taught me the meaning of portion control (can you believe an entire can of pringles - chips - is NOT a serving size?) ;) Not to mention, I eat what I want, when I want add up the calories and stop before I hit 1500. I average about 1300 a day per week and feel no guilt if I have something not necessarily "diet approved" The goal being when I get to where I'm maintaining my weight, my eating habits will be geared towards healthy eating of what fits in with my life - just moderately.

Whatever healthy route gets you there, that you find works for you is a great place to start :D

Good luck, and again, welcome to your diary!
