Sport Afternoon Snacking

Sport Fitness
Ok, well i had a tuna salad with 1 boiled egg white, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, half can tuna, humous (chick pea dip) at 1.

I wasnt at all full, so i had a blueberry muffin i made the other day at half 1, as they are quite light (low fat milk, little marg rather than butter, bit of a treat).

Its now 2.45 and ive just eaten an apple. I had planned to finish the tuna salad (another egg white, other half of the tuna) at 4 with a non fat natural yoghurt.

I now have that full, but not heavy, feeling; im off to the gym at six so will need something. Should i be eating salad part 2?

I had a bowl of bran flakes with raisin and almonds at half 8, peanut butter on pita and half 10 with some fruit. This 6-8 meals thing is quite hard to fit in - what makes a mini meal? i would've though a small plate of lettuce was about right but im not sure i can digest another before a workout.

Am i on the right track? i have to prepare food to bring to work, hence the 2 portions of salad. I sometimes have a tin of soup for lunch and another meal two hours after that feels a lot like overeating.

Thanks guys, all help/advice/criticism is appreciated

Ben

Yummy Snack

I have a large sweet tooth that use to always cause me to easily blow my diets until I started using it to an advantage in a healthy way.

One of my favorite afternoon snacks that always curve my apatite is 1 lg. sliced apple with 2 tbsp of peanut butter, using the peanut butter as a fruit dip. It is so satisfying you could almost eat it for lunch (not literally)!

One other suggestion is a whole wheat mini bagel with 2 tbsp. of light cream cheese that you can pick up at your local food mart.

These two snacks allow me to satisfy my sweet tooth with out feeling guilty after. You still need to watch it and be careful not to over indulge b/c the peanut butter and cream cheese will easily add up your daily calorie intake if not eaten carefully.

before you started this diet what were you eating? you will find that sudden changes in diet make you hungry anyway. Even if you start eating more food than before. Your body gets used to having fats, so when you reduce the amount of fat you eat dramaticaly your body still thinks that it is hungry, when you have had plenty of food.

The muffin was silly cos you may aswell of just had a big egg sandwich for lunch, instead of still being hungry after.

1 - try pitta bread to dip in your hummous, you need bulky carbs to fill you up.

2 - try eating what you would usually eat but a healthy version and a saller amount.

its not really a change as ive always eaten salad at lunches anyway, and i had a pitta bread but forgot to mention it.

why was the muffin silly? it was a reasonable healthy snack, and packed with blueberries.

i'm pretty sure your muffin had butter...if it had 'low fat' butter, it was loaded with trans fats.
it also had sugar, besides what was in the blueberries.

muffins...bread in general, is not an 'ideal' carb choice. flour is processed, and processed more to make bread.
the only bread i eat had to have sticks and nuts and twigs in it...i.e. 2-3g of fiber PER SLICE.

is that an order? i have the box set and that sounds like a great excuse for a day off work.

favourite rocky?

1 has the rawness that epitomises Rocky
2 has the passion
3 has Mr T and Hilk Hogan. What more is needed.
4 makes me feel patriotic to America, and im British. great final fight scene.
5 awful in comparison to the rest.

Mine's 2, just fantastic. slightly ruined by seeing Apollo creed playing a comedy (!) ex-golfer in happy gilmore.

I liked Rocky 5.
